Very true. My father refused to buy any Japanese products for many years. The reputation of the savagery was widely known. Well written. Sending you best wishes for the contest.

Thanks, Wendy. My father hated the Japs. He was stationed in New Guinea for three years. They beheaded our boys. K xx

Good luck wishes regarding the contest entry, Aussie/ Kay. This was truly a heroic woman, Vivian played dead while the Japanese took over the beach. However she truly missed the 21 nurses. This was definitely horrific. Blessings n Hugs!!!

What a horrible thing to have happen. I'm glad the lady survived and became a war heroine. This is good story for the contest. Thank you for sharing and good luck.

Yes, she was a brave woman. In the P.O.W. camp, she held her water bottle over her shoulder so the Japanese didn't know she was a survivor of the beach massacre. K xx

What an amazing woman! She's so strong and I'm glad she survived to tell the story of her fellow Australians. We are so thankful for all the Australians did in WWII and in the Korean War.
Thank you for telling her story. Best wishes in the contest!
Our men bayoneted. (were bayoneted?) If it's due to the word count, maybe you could add this to the previous sentence?
