'A keepsake to hold on one's sleeve" what a wonderful line this is, this read is from the heart and so very well described, as your feelings are here for all to see/read, a powerful write, so very well written, and thank you for sharing****kahpot

jesse, I am so glad that I read the notes first...I nearly mistook this for a
elegy/eulogy...And I never make light of break-ups unless they are toxic,
abusive or harmful in other ways...Your heartfelt "lament" is a melancholic
sentimental 'exit' reflection...I also, hope that it serves as catharsis. This
is beautifully written without malice...Your picture selection, rhymes and
tone are an excellent marriage. teafor2

The marriage of all the different parts of a poetic post is a wonderful way to complement me and my work.
Thank you for the six stars.
I appreciate your kind words of encouragement.

This is lovely, Jesse, so honest and hearfelt. You don't often write poetry, but I think the feelings you expressed work so much better in poetry than they would in prose. It really sounds as though you've taken yourself in hand and accepted the situation, as hard as it is. That's very brave and intelligent, as there's no sense fighting a situation that can't be changed. If you keep up this positive attitude, I know you'll get through this. You and David have a love that can't die, and separation can't change the way you feel. Let the love carry you through.

Hello Michele.
I see David leaving me as a springboard to moving on to better things including relationships.
His family wants to take care of him since that is better for both of us.
Staying positive is what I do best.
Thanks for your kind words of comfort and encouragement when I need it most.
Your friend, Jesse

Always, Jesse. Yes, staying positive does seem to be what you do best, and that's one of the things I like most about you.
-
Thanks, so much, my friend.
You are special to me.

You will find your soulmate. A true friend, not one who cannot care for you and your disabilities. It has to be a special man to take you on. Take the time to touch the morning my friend. K xx

I remember your mentioning David in previous posts. He was there and then gone. The best part is that he was there. You will enjoy fond memories forever. You are now free to embark on new joys and adventures. I learned long ago, whenever possible, you replace a loss with new gains. I wish you much success. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on the Milestone Post.

The final line of your poem really brings it home for me very well crafted lovely picture resonates the words of your poem. Even though your subject matter is different than your picture still strikes as a connection. Obviously written by a very talented writer that created a great poem that I very much enjoyed reading. I see no issues with aesthetic subject matter grammar or sentence structure.
Very well done in a fine entry I hope you have a great evening!

Although there is always tears and grief with a love lost, there is always something good that came of it Even though a break up is hard, we usually learn from it. Thanks for sharing your feelings with us.
