Nice job on this 50 word writing prompt. I was surprised at the end. Very good job on this. Good luck in the contest. When kids are little they say the funniest things.

Heh heh, what a great post and a marvellous post, it's a wonderful thing of a child's simplistic thought pattern, they think as anyone with the innocence of a child does. Beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

Thank you so much for your kind review, Roy, and for enjoying the thoughts of a child. If only we could keep that innocence longer than it lasts now days. Have a great day!

Oooh, dear! I suggest giving the final "grandma" a capital G to match the earlier occurrences. This story actually works... might even make the basis of a picture book.

This was a different but cute fifty word post. Brought back memories of my grandma and the birthday and Christmas cards I received. What a heartbreaking photo! I never could stand it when children cry. Thank God I didn't have to punish my daughter often.

Yes, I agree the photo would break any grandparents heart, or parent too. I remember how my mother always gave my son a bag of peppermints at Christmas with his other gifts. It's the peppermints that he remembers now that she is no longer with us. Thanks for reading the flash and for the kind review. Have a great day!

Perfect visual here for this moment of utter panic and upset! Well done for containing it so cleverly in your 50 word flash, together with a very neat rebuttal at the end. Great fun and a strong contender! Good luck! Debbie

Hahaha, this is hilarious, but not for poor little Jenny. This is a wonderful write for the contest. I would say it should do very well. I loved the punchline. All the best of luck, Ulla :)))

Thanks so much Ulla for another smile today. I felt sorry for Jenny, but the truth is all grandma's have spares for those little faces regardless if they are naughty or not. Glad you enjoyed. Have a great day!

This fifty-word story, Tell Me It Ain't True, has the proper word count and makes me cry and laugh to imagine this child's broken heart to think Grandma was gone. So cute.
