You have such a way of making us root for Miranda! And even though her life is not like ours, still we can completely relate to her roller coaster of feelings - of maternal love for Waylon, of suspicion of the new teacher, and the outrage at Dougie to show up unconcerned after all the worry he caused.

So, I've not read about Miranda in any previous posts (chapters) so this is all new to me.

With that said, you did lay some groundwork for a newbie to jump in. I'll just have to be alert in future posts to pick up any pertinent past info.

I'm liking the character of Miranda in these first two posts and looking for more.

Thanks,
John

I'm curious about the teacher and I'm curious why Dougie is back. More importantly way is he back. I'm in agreement with Miranda. How's this going to affect Waylon. It's not fair to him. I can't wait to read more.

That's a great line to end the chapter on. You've left me wondering just what he's going to do now he's found out that Dougie is alive. I thought you did a great job with the dialogue in this piece and I thought your chapter flowed really well. I'm looking forward to reading the next part.

Sounds like things are about to fly out of control in all different directions. And I can hardly wait to see Miranda on the war path, snatching all their butts into order. Thanks for sharing.

A welcome catch-up with Miranda. As though we've never been away. Same old lovable feistiness and close bond with Waylon. And now we know for sure that Dougie is alive and well but Miranda isn't celebrating. She's also, I'm sure, going to have many more confrontations with old Lemonface. We've a lot in store here, Gretchen, and you hit the ground running. Well done! Debbie

It is good to have Miranda back. She a tough one. She not taking any grief form anyone but she does have soft heart for Waylon and losing him isn't going happen easily. Also the lemonface at school isn't going to get to her either. I enjoy all your stories.

She really isn't satisfied unless she has a ton of things going on in her life. Lol. Soon, she'll be juggling trouble. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

This is an outstanding mixture of unpleasantness and shock, with excellent character development. You use action in the chapter to good effect to move the story on. kay

Waylon is old enough to make his own choice where he wants to stay. Plus, he could file to be released from his father, to be legally seen as an adult. Dougie is a slimy virus. He gobbles up everything in his path with no regard or feeling for what anybody else feels or thinks. Even so, she cannot be the one to turn him in. Waylon might blame her later. :-( Karen

You were right when you said, the lazy river is gonna get wild, you weren't joking, were you?

I don't like that teacher, and my son had one just like him, always picking on him, until I went and sorted him out. I hope Rita can find some dirt on him, so Miranda can go after him.

Now, what does Dougie want? You don't pretend to be dead for a couple of years then turn up as if all is fine with the world. I'm sure he's after something. Just so long as he doesn't upset Waylon again!! Great start, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx
