Hmm, I wonder if Dougie has been in touch with her. As Miranda has said, Colleen must know something, she's not exactly Miranda's BFF, and Dougie is not exactly the paternal parent he should be. Something is going on and Miranda is going to need all her wits about her. This is great, Gretchen, I'll be watching for the next chapter. :)) Sandra xx

Dougie is too stupid to think he has offended anyone. He's pretty conceited and probably thinks everyone is going to be happy to see him. lol. Thank you so much for this wonderful review. Gretchen

Or she might be a little bit afraid Waylon might want to go with his dad. Also, there is the mystery of why Miranda wants to talk to her. You've given the reader two things to speculate about.

Very engaging read! Your dialogue flows freely and realistic. I'm interested to know more about all the characters especially Dougie who simply put sounds like trouble.
I pictured 1930s sort of Raymond Chandler storytelling but I can't be. Love to know more.
