Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

This is a lovely quatern, the repeated line flowing down the page like a leaf drifting from an autumn leaf.

Excellent rhymes and the cadence reads very well.

Wishing you all the best with the voters. :)

Just beautiful poet. You did a fantastic job of blending in that repeating line with the rest of your lines

Would you consider..."With backwards glance..." instead of "A backwards glance..."
It blends in a bit better and seems to be more poetic.
This should do well.

Thank you, Katiemae. I struggled a lot with that particular line, which happens to be the most important line in the poem. I originally had, 'With a backward glance' but that didn't work because it created nine syllables. I appreciate your suggestion...it's very good. Thank you for your constructive review.

The quatern is one of my favorite poetic forms. . You've used it beautifully to highlight fall's poignant departure. It will be sad to see the last leaf slowly drift away. But winter has her own beauty. Lovely entry for the contest.

I enjoyed reading this beautiful poem about the changing season.
Fall is so beautiful, but eventually must wave good-bye and let winter have its turn.
Your rhyming is lovely and the meter right on.
Bet of luck in the contest.

Lovely! Great personification of the tree as she sheds her colourful garments and waves goodbye to her friends. Excellent rhyming and flow and I particularly like the echoing farewell. Well done and good luck! Debbie

This is a lovely quatern poem as the beauty of autumn waves goodbye as winter takes a hold and the cold, bare branches are left to battle the wintertime.
A lovely presentation, and good luck in the contest.

you nailed the quatrain format with this quatrain about my favorite time of the year -the autumn. I always loved the fall season because it is my birthday time of year.

This is a poem that employs this time honored, classic convention of personifying a season, in this case, autumn. Keats did this masterfully in his poem, Ode to Autumn. It has also a tinge of art nouveau about it, much in the same way as Mucha painted those beautiful women as the four seasons. estory

I'm not sure my little poem compares to the works of those two great names, but I appreciate your very kind words. Thank you.
