Carol, you have outdone yourself! This is so eloquently written. This is what you have experienced and thus is precisely what Nominal needs right now! I'm crying!

My sweet Karenina! I am thrilled that you got to read this one. I hope that Nomi sees it since it is not in the book or anything and so far he has not read it. My heart was in every word. I cried too! Love you my dear friend.

I just messaged him, urging him to find comfort in your post...

Hello Carol!
I have said this before, but it's always the same. You have such a mastery over written language. Your sentences, grammar, and phrases are near perfect every time I read your work.
Nomi is so blessed to have so many awesome friends. I have done reviews of a half a dozen works dedicated to him and his loss. I have also started a dialogue with him so that I may also become his friend.
Your words to him are wise in message and poignant in imagery. What I like the most are the details that you give, like the chair and cooking in the kitchen. In a lesser writer's hands, a work like this might come off as vague or overly sentimental. But your skill with imagery ("the hammer of emptiness," "emotional pool," "every corner of your life") avoids this trap.
--- "I wish I could snatch it from your shoulders and carry the weight for you" -- I love the metaphor of the "cloak" and how you use it to describe his burden. Beautiful.
Here are a couple things I noticed that you may incorporate if you agree:
---"We shamefully ask for one more day, one more minute, a last sweet kiss," --This is a wonderful sentence, but I wonder why you did not finish up the triad of repetition of the word "one" by writing "one last sweet kiss." I think by making this change it makes the repetition more powerful.
---"spilling what was into an emotional pool of what never will be." --This is small, but I think it would read better if you changed "never will" to "will never." This is totally your choice. You keep it the way it is if you like it better!
---"you live again until it's your turn and you will meet again." --Just wanted to pull this out for you to consider. It may be fine, but I did notice that the repetition of the word "again" may not be ideal. If you agree, just reword it.
I am so happy to be your fan and your friend! The reason I have not read any of your novel is because I WILL NOT start in the middle of something, and I'm just not sure I can go back and start at the beginning. However, let me think about it and see if I can't work it in. I don't mind reading for 1 point and 2 cents, because how else are we going to read someone's novel? We can't expect people to pump all their chapters all the time. So, I am okay with that. Let me see how I can make it work.
Talk again soon, dear friend!

That is so beautiful and meaningful, and a real gift of love. I too felt my inadequacy as a poet for such a time as this, but I echo what you have written for Nomi, and pray that your piece along with the poems will bring him comfort, assurance and peace.

Thanks, DEbbi. I couldn't write a beautiful poem like many did, but I wanted to extend my love, friendship and friendship to him and writing is the only way I know how. Thank you for reading my efforts.

You've written this beautiful offering to nomi from the heart and pen of one who has been there and it shows, Carol. You're right, our loves never leave us, they are with us in our every day and in time nomi will find that too.
Beautifully written,
cheers,

Friends like you are important to those recently bereaved dear Carol, because you've had to deal with the empty pillow, the chair, the shared activities, the memories, the loved ones in common, it's funny I wrote two poems for Nomi, but the second was more relevant than the first, thanks for understanding Carol, he will gain solace, well done, blessings Roy

I believe all the poems that have been shared on FanStory are filled with love and hope for a better tomorrow. I pray that Nomi gains strength and leans on the support he is offered until he can once again stand on his own.

Thank you for doing this Nomi! Of course, with all your experiences in grieving, you have grown in giving love and compassion to others with the deepest understanding.

I pray that all the poems written including my story will help Nomi as he faces those dark days and nights until he finds the strength once again to stand on his own. Knowing others care won't take the grief away, but it makes it a little easier to face.

This is the best, hands down, condolence letter I have ever read. I thought my letter to him which was only for him to read was pretty good. I teared up while I wrote it, but this is the most magnificent piece of art I have ever read. I want to rip my letter to shreds in comparison. Well, not really, my ego is too big for that. But There are not enough words to tell you you how very good this is. You are so very good at writing. Love to you , you great wonderful thing you! Karen

Carol,
Your story is so thoughtful and uplifting in Nomi's time of grief.
I really believe true love never dies, it just takes on a more spiritual form when we lose someone close to us.
Very nice words, Carol.
Blessings and best wishes,
