I don't know why it is, but there seems to be some who are in the teaching profession that belittle their students and do not encourage them like they should your story is very well written and I enjoyed very much listening to it. It's a shame that someone who has made 11th grade has to be bullied by a teacher. Patricia.

There are bullies everywhere. And even in my sixties I've come into contact with them. It is sad. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

That conversation certainly didn't go as planned. I can't wait to see what's next. At the numerous schools I taught at, the reason so many? We were military and moved a lot, teachers would never have gotten away with talking to a parent or guardian that way. Suggestion when Miranda speaking to the teacher, I think she'd use contractions. I doubt she's say, 'It is' it would be 'It's' there are a few I'd change to make it sound natural.

Thanks Barbata. Most teachers worth their salt act like decent human beings. But I've run into some who were real jerks. I'll revisit that passage. Thank you for the feedback. Gretchen

She's brilliant isn't she? Doesn't take a blind bit of notice of Mitch's superb advice and just does her own thing, regardless. Your skill at dialogue is top-notch, whether it be with Mitch or Mr Tomlin, it engages the reader instantly, making the story fluent and finishing far too soon (and I don't say that about many:)) Debbie

Awe. Thank you, Debbie. I do love writing dialogue. To me it moves the story. I really appreciate this nice review. Gretchen

Here you have presented a fine slant on how Miranda interacts with different people. She's a little intolerant, even with those she loves, and wants her own way. When she comes to deal with the opposition, she really goes to town, and it's a delight to read. kay

She is the kind of person who jumps in with both feet. Never checks to see if the water is deep enough, how cold it is, or if there are sharks. Thank you for your intuitive description of her. Gretchen

Good for you, I loved that pretty little britches bit. Tell him, That it is a shame his grades weren't high enough to get in to a better school like he wanted. But, that is no reason to punish kids who are trying. Especially ones who like the subject. And, as you were prepared for his nasty comments, you are sure the principal Mrs. Judson another middle aged lady would find the way you talked to Waylon's caretaker with derision and disrespect to be an offense worth noting in his file. . These little tape recorders are so handy. :-)

The principal is Miranda's ex mother-in-law. There is no love loss there. Now, Miranda has to wait for Waylon's reaction. Gretchen

Well, that changes things. I am am waiting for more stories.

Oh, well done Miranda - such a wonderful character. This man who is supposed to be a teacher doesn't have the faintest idea of how to teach - he makes me angry. Super writing! Love this story.

Thank you, Wendy. He is too big for his britches. Thinks he's doing them a favor by teaching. It should be give and take. Waylon might not appreciate her intervention. Gretchen

I love Miranda. She does take any crap off of anyone. This teacher deserves to have Miranda go for his Jugular. I hope this warning might make a difference. Mitch knows her well.

Mitch does know Miranda. Now we wait for Waylon's reaction. He like most adolescent boys might not be happy with it. Gretchen

OOOOOOH!!!!!! Good one, Miranda! I hope he listened, because if he doesn't, he is in for a big surprise! And for further backup, she has a policeman as her boyfriend. (actually, I hope he doesn't change!) I think it's time to dig into his background. Didn't his mummy give him his comforter? (dummy - in UK) I loved this chapter!
I'm in a bad place at the moment, and won't be on here much. I can't write, or do anything. I'm just keeping up with my favourite stories for now. Sandra xxx

I hope you're just busy and not under the weather. I really appreciate this nice review. Miranda is a fun character. She says the things that I can't. LOL. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,
I was wondering how long it would take for a confrontation to occur. Guys like Tomlin don't scare easily. Teachers have tenure, and unfortunately, it's almost impossible to get rid of them, and they know it. It will be interesting to see what develops here. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.

I just hope Waylon doesn't get angry with her intervention. Teenage boys can sometimes react in a negative way. Thank you for this great review. Gretchen
