A lot of inspiration for thought in your poem: i personally prefer books to open and feel, and the lovely smell of paper rather than an e-book but am feeling obliged due to the pressure of being pressed for time to publish quick, to use websites to make my books known, before they get stolen,
to be honest technology only brought me problems: with hackers and copyright infringements, there used to be a time when copying a Poet's work was a crime punishable by death.
Many thanks for your poetry,
Best wishes,
Sarah

Thank you very much, Sarah. Thank you for your kind and supportive words and thoughts. I am not one who is supportive and trusting of AI. I appreciate your comments.

Oh wow, Robert, you've posed some very good questions and raised very real concerns!!
Can they, indeed, steal our thoughts and writings? AI seems to be everywhere. Even google uses it now when you go to look things up. I confess, I use it for my artwork I post. Am I playing games with an entity that is quickly taking over? I know I've helped Amazon become the conglomerate it is.

Great job,
Rhonda

    Thank you very much, Rhonda.
Your words about Al are true and pointed. It could take words and change them, or create something totally different with them. It has no conscience and no human emotions. It is simply lines upon lines of computer code. I do not trust the technology because I do not know its source or who controls it... if anyone.

Sentiments pertinent to our times and lots to reflect upon here in this poem as we engage with A1, whether we like it or not, it's coming our way - I agree and the final two lines states the case - Well done.

    Hello Zanya.
Thank you very much for your positive review and observations. I am more than sheptical of the technology. It certainly is happening at a very rapid pace. Thank you very much for the glorious six stars. I am honored.

Ciao,

Your poem intrigued me so I googled and from what I read

it is not a good idea to share your work with these AI chat sites.

Several comments said their idea had been stolen and a few weeks later multi-million dollar firms were selling their idea.

The same for those who shared their prose with these AI sites.

So best is to stay clear.

Thank you for your observations and inclinations about AI. I do not trust it with creative original writing. It has no conscience. Software is available to help detect AI writing. I don't trust it either.

Robots and AI will destroy our society.

Elon Musk is already producing the Tesla second generation Optimus, a humanoid robot that will work in his factories.

He said that within 5 years 500.000 robots will be working in our society.

That means half a million fewer jobs.

    People, the masses will become
    obsolete.

I saw a robot on TV making bread and another painting a canvas.

We already have skilled artisans/ bakers who have passed the trade ( and secrets) from one generation to another.

We have artists who paint with passion

So I don't understand why even make robots do these things.

I don't think a computer can ever compete with a human brain when it comes to poetry as the human element is missing! You made me smile with this well rhymed and metered post Robert, love Dolly x

    Hi Dolly.
Thank you for your insightful comments and positive words about the style. AI will never capture real emotion. It can only pretend. It also has no conscience. I believe it is capable of stealing creative lines and words. I do not trust it in writing. Maybe so in hard science.
Thank you so much for the glorious six stars!

AI is scaring when it comes to some things. Other things, it can be helpful and even lifesaving. I hope for the sake of writing, it won't be possible.
I enjoyed your well crafted poem.

Blessings

    Hello Janet.
Thank you very much for your review and personal observations about AI. I am skeptical about it in creative writing. I tried a couple of things with it, but it doesn't think a thing like me. That's probably fortunate for the AI device. I will always be suspicious of it except in hard science.

Hello Robert.
An excellent poem on the impact of AI with excellent rhymes and meter.
AI is a two edged sword, perhaps with even more edges.
A threat to creative writing, but also an important advancement in technology
and medicine that has many implications for the future. On thing is sure, other countries will develop it for military uses, and those that don't will be at a distinct disadvantage, maybe even a fatal one.
But, back to writing, it causes many problems, yet can also solve those problems. AI can be used to detect the use of AI. What a world, brave and new, or sad and scary.
Well said.
Best wishes.
Robert

    Hi Robert.
Good to hear from you again. I don't believe AI can create anything. It can merely assemble. If I type up a half a page about a poem I want it to write, it will figure out a way to use the words it thinks I'm looking for to write that poem. I prefer using my own words and using writing techniques like "elision." I use that often in order to meet meter requirements. I see it used some in older poetry but I don't see it used much these days. Since I am skeptical, I don't trust it. Thank you for the review and for your personal comments about it. I do love rhyme and meter.

You posed interesting questions about AI. I attended a Zoom conference about what AI can do for writers. It was helpful to the instructor conducting the meeting. He asked AI for suggestion to help his writing. No thank you. I'd rather do my own thinking.

I enjoyed your perfect poetic rhythm as you questioned the future roll of AI.

    Hello Lorraine.
Thank you for your wonderful review about the content, as well as the style, of the poem. I am concerned about it's effect on creative writing. Since it does not think like I do I do not believe it can create writing like I do. Enough things in this world want to take away our individuality.

This poem says a lot about A1 and how it takes away our creativity. You are correct that it steals other people's ideas. This is a relevant topic today, but one that is unfortunately here to stay.

    Hi Kahlani.
Thank you for reading my poem, and for your thoughtful comments. I am a skeptic, but that's normal for me. I don't trust it so I will probably be one that always has a problem with it. Hard headedness.

I think you had an excellent point with this poem. You expressed your concerns well in verse, and you asked some good questions in your author's notes. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

    Hello Jessie.
Thank you for your well thought out analysis and comments about the poem. I am suspicious of AI and I do not completely trust it. I've been skeptical most of my life and this thing has my skepticism standing at attention.
