It is a joy to have those special memories. It's wonderful when people have pleasant things to look back on instead of continuous turmoil, drug abuse, etc. You don't know how lucky you to be born into a lovely family. It's interesting that Halloween time was so special for you with your mom making costumes, etc. A lovely memory. I enjoyed your rhyme and the flow. It certainly has a nostalgic feel to it. judi

You're welcome. I can't think of a Halloween that's among my special memories. I always think more of Thanksgiving and Christmas. judi

She was like that at every holiday. The Christian one's more so, but I think that goes along with being a mother of a big family and a great school teacher. She was the reason Oprah did acts of kindness for teachers. So she died young but was honored before she left this world anyway.

I am like her in that I love the cute fun part of Halloween as opposed to the horror and gorey side.

I figured there might be others who might be feeling the same way, as so many of us are around the same age, so not too many have their moms. It is easy to write about something that you know and we sure all knew our mothers. She was amazing and did so much to help young minds. An amazing teacher. So I have many good memories.
