Sanku,
Thank you for your review. I love my country, it's just not the same one I grew up in. It makes me sad to see what it has become. The US may be a region that yields gold if you know the right people.

I don't blame you for being angry. I'm enraged.
The same thing is happening here in Europe.
Our leaders don't have the people's best interests in mind. They have their agenda.
Jobs are lacking, our medicare system is falling apart,
our roads, bridges, and tunnels (up north in the mountainous areas) need repairing
the housing industry is crippled
it is getting impossible to pay mortgages, and monthly bills, let alone food.
Yet our leaders keep sending billions to Ukraine and now to Israel.
And don't get me talking about the illegals arriving here on our coasts.
Our government treats them better than its own people.
I agree, we need to all unite and say enough but there are still people willing to vote for these corrupt in power.

Thank you for your review. I was unaware y'all had the same problems the U.S. does. It's fascinating and sad at the same time. We as a people across the world need to rise up and take control of country to let them know we mean business. I believe the U.S. will go into a civil war at some point if something doesn't change.

Are you willing to stand up against the country you fought for? I'm a veteran of the Army and the Navy. I hesitate to take up arms against my country. Remember January 6? They were pretty peaceful and look what the system did to them. I'll let the politicians fight it out. I fought for my own freedom too. Not just everyone else's. God Bless.

Thank you for your service and your feedback. I do believe I would stand up against the crooked politicians running this country. They are driving it into the ground. Not sure how old you are, but growing up the country wasn't like this. The current state of affairs is scary. Just saying.
-
Say it with impunity. It's a disgusting state of affairs to be sure. Sadly, we are given explicit rights to fight against our enemies, both foreign and domestic, but the moment you follow that creed, you are labeled a traitor. I accept thanks for the feedback, but the service was my pleasure. Thank YOU for understanding.

This is a very well written poem you have penned about how the government is not taking care of the American people like they should. You used great descriptive words and very good imagery from your words. May God bless America and you my friend. Blessings, Teri

Hi Teri,
Thank you for your feedback. The world we live in is scary. It saddens me that so many of the youth have no clue what it used to be like. My kids think i'm a "Nutter or Loony Tune," however, I know what it used to be. God Bless you and yours.

I could not agree with you more. They do want us divided. With a unified group, they wouldn't stand a chance. But while we fight amongst ourselves, they are getting away with murder. This was great. Gretchen

Gretchen,
Thank you for your feedback. They are dividing us, however, those of us with a brain can see what's going on. It's across all races that people can see what they are trying to do. There are still so many who don't have a clue and it scares me.

Firstly, congratulations on your First Milestone post and welcome! America today is certainly not the country our Founding Fathers envisioned and I feel they would be dismayed to see what it has become. There leaves much to be desired from both sides of the main political landscape, and both should be held accountable for all the me-first mud-slinging and deterioration of values and common sense and morals. Your poem aptly expresses the dissatisfaction of the American public. Nicely done!

Thank you for you feedback. I know there are a lot of people who feel the same way. It's like Oliver Anthony's song Rich Men North of Richmond. Everyone related to that song. America is in trouble and it makes sad.

Welcome to Fanstory. Congratulations on your first post.
You express what so many people in this country are feeling right now. God helps those who help themselves. We need to turn to each other and offer kindness and respect for our country's differences.
Keep writing and join the multitude of writers who express themselves through poetry.

Jesse,
Thank you for the kind words. I agree that we need to turn to other people. I always try to be nice to everyone. We are all the same when you peel back the skin. God bless you and your family.
-
We don't need to peel back the skin to see how the same we all are.
Thanks for the blessings.
Jesse

Hi Jessie,
I beg to differ. There is way to much hate in this nation for people of a different race. You may not see color and I don't see it, but a lot of people do. It's not just a white thing either.
-
There is a lot of hate, period!
For all sorts of reasons besides the color of skin. Gender, sexuality, and nationality to name a few.
We need to stop all hate in our country and the world.
-
I totally agree!!!

Yay!!!

I don't discuss politics, I've lost to many so called friends this way, but I agree with your well written poem to the letter. This stanza hit me the hardest: "What did we fight for?
Not the country I see today
Politicians are crooked
Sending tax payer money."
Well done.

Thank you for the feed back. The poem was written one day when I was totally fed up with this world. I don't do politics either, because whether you are blue or red we are all people at the end of the day.

I echo your sentiments, but I think this would be better in an essay than in poetic form. There really isn't anything musical or poetic about this, it is more of a philosophical viewpoint of what is wrong in the country. In the end, mankind is flawed and corrupt and anything he constructs or attempts is flawed and corrupt in some way. No politician is going to get us out of this mess. Jesus is the only answer. estory

Thank you for the feedback. Funny story is I am in the middle of writing an essay based of the poem. I know it's not your typical poem, but it is free form. I agree Jesus is the only answer at the end of the day.

Carol,
Thank you for the feedback. I am old enough to know what this country used to be. It doesn't look that way today and it scares me. My husband and I are both veterans and it makes me mad that the freedoms we fought for are slowly slipping away. Hopefully people will wake up and stand with me when I say Enough. My kids think we are loony tunes.
