You girls were a mess. Reminded me of things my wife said about her days with her kin. They took a car but flipped it on a dirt road, luckly nobody was hurt. The kiss, instant reaction. I had a son who did most of the art work for his school as well and later became a graphic artist. Good one, Beth.

Thank you, Chuck. I guess I was lucky when riding with a 14 year driver with 35 cent in her purse that we got safely back to the reunion. I sure you son got better pay as a graphic artist than I did in Mississippi which didn't consider female artist worth of being paid as much as men because men were supposed to be the breadwinners. Thank you so much for the six stars.

Another interesting story. I was a bit surprised about the education system where young marrieds are together with fifteen-year-olds, but I guess they could have been around eighteen or so. The boy took a liberty with you, and although cute, he sounds as if he wasn't good boyfriend material.

Thank for the nice review. The married girls were around the same age we are. Many married at 16 with parent's permission. It only girls. I never knew of a boy who continued to go to school after he married. I guess they had to get a job. We usually didn't have over one on two in class at one time.

That boy was indeed very confident, and I think I would have done the same if I had been a girl and been kissed, but I was never that bold I afraid, but later as a teen, I did become much bolder, but never got slapped, beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

Well, he was a teenager. I was surprised and he was a bit bold but maybe he thought I wanted to be kissed. Thanks for a great review.

It sounds like you were feeling your feet here and growing up fast. Fuel at 20 cents a gallon made me smile too. You were bold to slap the boy on the face and you were showing him that he was taking liberties. Another fine chapter Beth, love Dolly x x x

Thank you, Dolly. He was pretty bold to kiss me without asking. I didn't even think about it and I'd never slapped anyone before. It was amazing gas was so cheap.

Beth, This is another really good chapter you have penned. It sounds like you had a great time growing up in Mississippi. Sounds like you had a good thing going with the guy until you slapped him. I bet he still remembers that slap today! lol love and blessings, teri

Also, it could have turned out much worse for you. Thank you for another engaging visit to the past. Every bit of this consumed me into your world. I enjoyed meeting your family, Joy and the boy who did numbers. I wish this could stretch out long time.

Thank you, Jim. He would never been one I would have married. I'm glad I got the one I did, but something about cute bad boys always appealed to me.

There's nothing better than cousins who turn out to be best friends. So many memories spent with them and I just had one of mine come visit me for a week which she does most every Fall. So glad time hasn't seperated us. Thanks for sharing.

Good writing. I too, was raised to believe that boys should be guarded against. The first boy that tried to steal a kiss, Got a bloody nose. Enjoy your weekend. Karen

Thank you, Karen, but he was so quit and didn't want to scare him way. I he didn't like being slapped. There was another not so cut, who tried to kiss me, and I clawed him up pretty good.

That kiss could of had a better ending, but then again, maybe not. I always enjoy reading these memoirs. They fun and interesting.

we made a trip to a state part and to Jackson where Joy got some new pedal pushers. (state park??)

The small collage was an inexpensive step in that direction. (college??)
