This part of your life had a lot of the usual changes but also so many additional thoughts and situations to consider...how your family would feel about you in college, how Even would adjust and you too to college life.... You described it all so well. Thank you for sharing.
Smiles, Carol

Having a date for high school events very important to most teens.

An award for public speaking - nice. Many people are too timid to speak in public.

Most often after graduating students go their seperate ways and lose contact with each other. Can be tough on them.

"and she has sent away" should be and she had sent away, to keep the same tense as the rest of the posting.

"Baptist Jr. college" should be Baptist junior college.

"college hours has nothing to do with actual hours" should be college hours had nothing to do with actual hours - that same tense thing again.

Your story continues to be very interesting and such a keepsake for your family to have as time goes on.

I know how intriguing it must have been for you to stay at home yet go away to a brand new world in a peculiar way... but you did and I suspect the next chapter will lengthen the tale.

That was really interesting, Beth. Meeting the family for the first time is nerve wracking, it was for me, anyway! Then to say goodbye to all your friends at school, most for the last time, that is really emotional. Starting a new school that your father decided you should attend, the one he confessed he didn't like, that was another hard ordeal. Fortunately, this one turned out much better than you expected. I really enjoyed this chapter of your life, my friend. Well done!! Have a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous 2025! :)) Sandra. xxx

This next part is copied and pasted, which I'm sorry for....
I'm so sorry for not reading and reviewing much in the last couple of months, my cataracts have thickened so much I can hardly see out of my left eye; the right eye is bad but I can still see fairly well out of it although faces are like shadows. I was supposed to have had them removed before Christmas but now it won't happen until the end of January or beginning of February. Then, if all goes well, my eyes won't be so tired and foggy.

I'm sure a small town graduation is rather emotional as you grew up together!
I know you had co-workers who were attracted to you so despite your humble unawareness of your physical beauty, it's clear that you were the "prettiest girl in Newton"!
Hope your shingles symptoms are subsiding. Kudos for getting this out despite all the discomfort!

Thank you, Helen, as far as having men find you attractive, I think it has to do with being young, vulnerable, and female. The sharp nerve pain is better, but the sores are still tender and runny. Thank you for your prayers.

Thank you for sharing your graduation with us Beth, it all sounded very exciting. Our schools back then did not have graduation ceremonies, although I think they do now. I left school to go to college without any celebration. I am glad that your would-be husband, Evan, was able to attend too, you both have a long history together. I enjoyed you post, love Dolly x x x

Another enjoyable read, and you are right - we don't always recognise the moments of significant change until much later.
Wendy
Edit:
In spite of the fact, Wayne enjoyed violent entertainment like this, and wrestling matches. (Not sure why you put in "In spite of the fact"? What fact?)
I full load per semester was 18 hours. (One full load or a full load?)

Thank you, Wendy. What I was trying to say was that Wayne wasn't violent man in spite of liking violent forms of entertainment. A full load in college is taking all the classes a student is allowed to take during a semester. I'll try to make those things clearer.

Graduation tome has always been special for most of us. JHowever, I went in the Army in my 10th year, but later graduated with a Ged. I missed those times but I had a love for all. Good you and Evan married later and had a wonderful family/.

A lot of boys seem to like to do it that way. They preferred more action that the classroom provided. Thank you for the six stars.

I understand the health issues. I've had my share this week with Shingles and sinus condition.

Put a memory to write about. It's so well done too I had no trouble following along graduation. Yes highs and lows definitely. Children always do well. I shouldn't say always, but they do most part what they want to do as opposed to the parents want to do often different.
Your writing is very well done. It's clear it's concise. I had no trouble following along character's u of course memorable.
Thank you for this really great submission. I hope you have the most awesome holiday day. Great night too!

I enjoyed listening to this chapter very much and it brings back memories of my own life and when I met my husband. It is wonderfully written and you do a very good job with your writing. May you have a wonderful evening and a very good Christmas. Patricia, I do hope you're feeling better and that the shingles is subsided.
