Monte,
You've painted quite a picture with your words of the devastation
and heartache. This picture goes along so very well with it.

great star trek photo to go along with a sad poem that certainly must feel true to all who suffer from such a hard affliction.
as I understand, it can certainly be the emotional roller coaster ride. no fun either. thanks for sharing. nice senyru

How true, how true. Without my meds this could be me. In fact it was me and sometimes still is me from time to time if my meds get mixed up or something interferes with them. This is a good poem.

Hello Monte...the title got me in, as i am writing a poem about the mind, and sickness....it is going to make me 'miss popular'....I don't think so!!
Interesting word choices and I didn't notice anything that needed changing. I did wonder about the picture you chose to accompany the work, but that doesn't effect the rating of the poem.
bye for now and thanks for sharing your writing, Abby

the picture to me is about darkness and light as is manic depression

It is difficult to sum up manic depression or bipolar disorder in a little Haiku, but you've pulled it off. Excellent work-this is a perfect description. The picture is priceless-is it from Star Trek?

For such a short poem this puts you right there. All the elements are present with a good flow and choice of words.

Earthwriter,
An elegant haiku. Captures the cyclical rhythms and sense of inevitability. I can feel the coming darkness. I think the use of unflowery, common words grounds the poem.
Thank you,

The rise and fall of it all, what a viscous cycle depression can be. Up one day and then down the next as far as you can go and not knowing how you got there. Great lil haikuru. :>)

Hi I liked your poem. I think that you have captured this state very succinctly. The supporting artwork also works very well here. Kind regards.
