Hello amada,
love the cadence in you poem comparing a woman and a tree
I loved the part how you described the lady and the tree they both seems know where there roots are -

Morning finds my roots
curling in relaxed soil,
My senses morphed
into a splash of lights.

My previous scowl
is now a smile.

Amanda:

The imagery of comparing tree to an uplifting individual captured me immediately. The thoughts of 'downwardness' turned into positiveness is very uplifting.

This poem reads very smooth and is an easy read with a lot of meaning behind it.

Notice it is for competition, best of luck.

amada,

Wow, what a great contest entry. OUtstanding stanzas which flow so effortlessly-so smoothly, allowing us to follow its quick pace with no trouble. Excellent choices in the wording you used here, and this is such an 'understandable,' poem. Nicely written, amada.

We can always obtain some direction within our lives when we converse with nature.

We let our mind cry and think of sad issues or we can change
our mind to think of happy events and the urge to become happy once again.

"Checking in
with my inner trunk;
I need a lot
of loving advice:

Prisoner of my
own expectations
I'm getting rusty,
grumpy and cold.

As his leaves
swiftly swing
he utters wisdom,
at its very best:

"Silly woman,
you need a rest."

(list not lists)

Great writing I enjoyed every word written.

Honeytree.

It was so refreshing just to read this poem. I felt renewal in its words. The imagery projected is wonderful and one knows that we all must allow ourselves to smell the flowers. Excellent, and thank you for sharing. LadyMary

I like this poem. It has a great feel to it. My favorite line is:

Let stillness
court my hands

I really should try to do that a lot more often!!
Thanks for sharing!
