Please forgive me for this cut and paste response. I've been having a bit of a thriller myself - been clearing trees, shrubs and weeds and a ringer called poison ivy jumped into the match. I lost and my eyes now resemble a prize fighter--swollen to the max. I can relate definitely. This is a great story Carol and I'm glad the writer decided what really is more important. And the reason his juices stop flowing when he's interrupted is because he's a man. Women are used to the interruptions:). Kids, dishes, cooking, all the fun stuff. I'm just kidding, really. No spag spotted.

This is an enjoyable short story which will, no doubt,
prod the consciences of a few of your readers who are guilty of switching off the rest of the world in favour of writing.
There is nothing to suggest changing. I still find it strange to forget that you - the author - are a woman writing as if you are a man ... as I have encountered in some of your other stories as well. I must say, you do a very good job of describing the feelings and behaviour of a man!

This is a fabulous story. No use mentioning the impeccable writing, dialogue, vocabulary, exactly right word at the right time. The story is touching and meaningful to anyone who writes. How many times have I felt like screaming when my wife opens the door to my office while I am in the middle of writing something I finally got "just right" in my head? And how many times have I felt the need to compensate for my neglect of the one who inspires many of my storeis? You touched many nerves with me.Great stuff. JeffreyStone

Working on a farm is a never ending job..always something to be done..My ancestry were all farmers and I have heard many a tale.
