I'd flip my lid if my friends did that to me. I have a gun and I know how to shoot, don't let my wheel chair fool you. Your story is very well written as always with excellent dialogue, wonderful narrative and great descriptive writing. You painted a picture in the readers head. I was fooled until the joke hit me. You managed to established a setting, conflict, and a resolution to your story. Those guys were stinkers to poor Shelly. I enjoyed this line: "Kate, Rob, and two other girls from the office were convulsing in the booth behind her. Margie, Pam and Hank stood in the kitchen door laughing." You did a marvelous job. Keep up the excellent writing. Have a nice day.

Well, you sure got me with this one, Carol!! Had me believing from the start that Shelly was having the worse day ever! Great surprise ending ... I wonder if Shelly barfed on her friends after that. LOL

That was an awful joke to play on Shelly. The poor girl was to the point of throwing-up when the laughter began. I feel sorry for her, but at least she mustered up a laugh.

Well, Carol, you topped my list of surprise stories. I thought sure Rob and Kate had run off to get married. Never suspected an April Fool's trick. I think it would have taken me a bit longer to join in the laughter, but I guess if you're that far under the table, it would be a marvelous release.

This was an very clever but in a way cruel joke to play on a coworker. I can imagine her relief when the realized it was a joke they everyone seemed to be in on.
