Life's not about the things we own
more so, it's the talents we hone
A beautiful presentation, Debbie, for a beautiful poem. Good rhyme and meter, and a great deal of meaning in the words.
Hugs,
Lois

Extremely eloquent and important sentiments expressed in couplets, Debbie.
So many are obsessed with how they look and what they own, they forget the important things in life, as you so very well highlight here.
Best wishes, Ray.

I'd have to agree with you here Debbie, it's true that the people we know and value, they are the most important and valuable things in our life! I love this relevant poem that talks of things of real value! Well done, blessings, Roy.

Amen to all that Sister!! Couldn't have said it better myself. Such a lovely poem and inspiring reminding us that material things of this world don't matter. It's what's in our hearts that God sees. Thanks for sharing this.

Great food for thought, Debbie. We all have some sort of talent, and the most satisfying lives are those where people USE them, I think. :)

Beautifully rhymed couplets stating the very core of our existence. Not the passive kind - but one that is possessed of dynamism.
There is a song that goes, "A house is not a home..."
and relates with the saying, "Home is where the heart is."
This maybe a sentimental piece. It speaks about love and caring, of interpersonal relationships and about our beliefs among others.
The subtle message is, we have to distingush between existence and living and living with a purpose.

This could be a proclamation on how to live life, with the first line of each stanza showing how the commercial, political world would have us live it and the last line of each stanza revealing the spiritual rendering of life well lived.
Well done, Debbie!

Inspiring poem about life!
Well written with much wisdom and grace. Nice flow and rhythm without sacrificing meaning.
This would be a good placard to hang on one's mirror to view every day to remind us what's important in life.
Well done.

Debbie;
The artwork here chosen is beautiful and it sure looks like it refers to life for life's essence.
Your rhyming couplets are done very well and neither of your rhymes are labored or forced and your rhythm and flow smoothly without your poem which makes it easy for me to read your poem clearly.
Your couplets have many answers for many of questions that arises in our lives and they are put to the forefront for people to read and understand that there is more to life
than just breathing.
Thank you for sharing and posting this for everyone to read and may the Lord be with you and keep you well.
