Love the new sub plot and I hope yoy find a way for the little girl to meet Julia. He has a great instinct for people and that seems to be coming from his soul. That is significant and adds a subtle credibility to your excellent piece.

Michael: I like how you are mentoring Julia in seeing reality vs the past. This gives Trellita more insight and compassion to Julia while getting out of her house of grief.
Question in this section, what is the name of the brother???
I like how you are showing the priests to be evil with self interests of pride. They don't consult the Lord first. They hit the girl...where is the love?
Jesus says, "Let the little children come to me." Valerius is more loving than the priests. They spent time together is what the girl liked...well done Michael. Maybe, Julia can meet this girl in a chapter.

Tom, we need some TENS for Michael!

Life back then was really quite dangerous for anyone with an affliction that could be attributed to demonic possession. I realize it was a very long time ago, but I do find the cruelty difficult to tolerate. You are doing a terrific job with this and, as always, I have no suggestions. You are doing just fine without them.

You should be well pleased, it is a great story, especially now where there is more emphasis on the human elements and not so much on the fighting. I can see Valerius being the hero in a movie, the character has reached new heights and has potential to expand more (please don't kill him off yet!) In fact, all the characters closely connected to him are so sympathetic and add greatly to the story when they are in it. Most enjoyable. Faye

Compared to the other story I just read, here you shift to a more literary style. Both are good. You have no problem switching gears. This is like a slower reveal of suspense, but the build up is really good. No errors found.

Great chapter. I'm glad that Julia has finally had some sense talked into her that seemed to sink in. Now with this new little girl, I fear she will be presented to Julia as a like mind. I also fear this will be their undoing. If Julia is finally convinced but someone discovers them singing and dancing in the woods together, it will not go well. Especially with the priest returning home with new found vigilence.

Oh my. Sounds like the little girl has imaginary friends and they want to kill her for it. As for Julia. She sees that Trellita has her best interest at heart and is trying to help her. This is another well crafted chapter.

This is taking such an interesting turn, Mikey. Julia concedes to temper her visions while Valerius picks up another patient with powers similar to Julia. I'm wondering if the two psychics will befriend each other?
Good stuff!!!!
"Julia, how is that Valerius is at my home in one form and in a tree here with you in another form at the same time? Do you see where that might cause one curiosity?" ["Julia, how is IT that..." >> If this was pasted from the last chapter, I missed it then.]
This is the world I live and the only world I know. [world I live IN ? and the only...]

Thank God for post it notes. I'll fix those two things. Thanks for catching them. Glad you're enjoying this, I am too! mikey

Hi Micheal, what an absolutely intriguing and well written story, the characters are very well described, I had to go back a couple of chapters to pick up, when I have more time I must read the whole book to date.

Another out of the ordinary individual. Oh dear, soon there will be a colony but perhaps there will be strength in numbers. I am glad Julia understands what she must do.
I've heard that even Galileo had to deny his scientific wisdom at the demands of the church.
