Enjoyed this very much. Your description of the banquet was spot on.
Did not foresee the newborn being eaten. George's toast was epic.
I have no idea what a good dessert would be.
Thank you!

Your excellent writing made this macabre scene so clear in my head. I suspected the baby was going to get eaten, but not the poor mother as well! Clever touch adding Father Tàe Moore, the communities new parish priest. That of course lulled me into a false sense of optimism that everything would be okay. I should have known!

Oh GROSS! Dean, you have surpassed any possible imaginings of horror, IMO - in fact, I just created my first-ever contest, and the theme is horror/thriller. I hope you'll enter! I'd love to see what you come up with!
Eeeewwww - I am still shuddering over this one. I can't imagine how you thought of this (and don't WANT to)!

Hi,
A very good ghoulish tale
The characters are well described
The scenes are very clear and descriptive
The dialogue is easy to follow
This piece didn't give me night mares
It would be a great opening chapter to a real book. Give Ole Stephen King a little competition I think it might just stand up.
Over all I think it is a very twisted write but then it is suppose to be.

This was probably one of the creepiest things I have ever read. I could certainly feel Alanna's embarrassment. The whole thing was so vile and I felt like I was the prey at one point and the predator for letting it happen. Well written. Such horror in such a short story. Gretchen

Thanks so much, Gretchen. I don't know if "enjoyed" is the proper word to use, but I'm very happy to know the story entertained you. I got a bit squeamish even writing this myself. I do have children.
I very much appreciate your very generous rating and your time spent reviewing.
Thanks again. ~Dean

Creepy, intriguing, and scary all rolled into one. I don't usually read this genre, but I am trying to broaden my scope.
The story flows very good and comes to a terrifying end.
I see no changes. I did notice good use of alliteration.
Good job.

Bizarre but exciting at the same time. I rushed the read but had to backtrack and read again. Was to delicious to rush. Very well done indeed Mr. Kuch.
Always,

Thanks so much for giving this story a shot, Missy. I don't know if saying that you "enjoyed" this would be the proper term to use in this instance, but I'm certainly glad to know the story entertained you. Your stellar rating and thoughtful comments are very much appreciated as they always are.
Thanks so much again. ~Dean

When you write a story line you have such colorful thoughts and ways of writing creative phrases that just ignite a parlance of interesting story lines. This was an excellent short story that I enjoyed reading and writing this response for... John

Chapter 5 of the book Tiny Tales of Terror 469 word short story. "The Fruits of Her Labor" These days I don't get to review much postings and sometimes I miss one of yours altogether. As usual, this chapter is of a high standard and what can I really say other than, well done, Dean.
