This is hilarious I love it especially using the word for urinal in other languages; that was a stroke of genius. Your descriptive language really brings the scene to life; the one that particularly amused me was "I staggered like a bloated toad", Great work.

It beats pissing against the wall. This is very well written with a humorous flow of words, making for a very interesting read. Now you know what created the water table.

In my opinion, a charming, and yes, a humorous write - the verse was engaging and "fluid in movement," and I enjoyed the energy of the ode salutation...

Well done with this one, very clever, do you realise the flasche in German is a bottle, there fore it was "pissbottle"! But I do realise it was a play on words, well done, it was most amusing, I was aware they had public urinals in France, (I'm not sure if they still do? Well done, Tony, blessings, Roy
Typo, a (sight) that. Site?

Hahaha ... you did justice to Pantygynt's challenge, Tony, with this ode to a urinal!
Some clever phrasing ... "whist a pistle". Loved "urinflasche" ... flasche being German for 'bottle'. A fun ending "It's all zipped up! That's final!". The story told here is one that just about everyone can relate to, as most of us have imbibed a little too much in our youth.
A fun poem to read, Tony!

Really? Now I have seen it all! Tell me is that really a public urinal out in the open in front of God and everybody? Not a lot of privacy there, but I suppose it works.
I think you aced the challenge. Surprisingly creative! X Nancy

Thanks, Nancy. I appreciated your kind comments about this one. Glad you enjoyed it. These public urinals used to be commonplace in France but have largely disappeared now. Tony

Loved it Loved it Loved it and what a stunning subject it certainly deserves the awards honoured to your work. A really fun poem although I got really concerned on coming to the Pig and Whistle there was going to be a problem.

Fun, whimsical poem in the tradition of Ogden Nash as you weave a consistent, unforced rhyme and images of well-known cities with the silliness of urinals. Pantgynt was correct -- you could "write a beautiful ode, even to a urinal."

It is an ode to more than one urinal. Funny, too. I grinned as I read. Sounds so much like a young man out to prove what a he-man he is by drinking like a fish. And it's very important that he find a place to relieve himself, even if it is on the street. I'll bet tourists not only think that is great, when needed in Paris, but also I imagine it's astonishing, especially for Americans. Lol.
I'll bet you didn't read my story about septic tanks. Off the wall, too. Haha.
