I love this Flash Fiction story about this beautiful mare that you bought. I hate to hear of any human hurting any animal. I am so glad you gave her to the Riding for the Disabled. This is a beautiful story with a happy ending. Best wishes in the contest my friend! love, Teri

Hello Teri Berry, Thanks for reading my friend. Yes, horse went to a lovely home when she could no longer be ridden. I hope she had some good times with the crippled child. Love, K.

Good luck in the Dribble Flash contest Kay, This indeed was a great short story. I always enjoy a humane story. Between your entry and your narrative it was fantastic learning about Lassie.

Good morning my friend, Yes, a good ending to a sad life for Lassie. Eventually, she went to green pastures and a crippled child who adored her. I hope at least some of her life was good. I know St Francis of Assisi would have been smiling. Love, Kay.

Hello Sanku, We all have an obligation to care for animals and especially those in danger like my mare was. Thanks for reading. Cheers, Kay.

Hi there,
This is a very nice little piece for the competition. The subject matter is one that always does well in these kinds of things. It's well written with no spag I could detect.
The riding for the disabled is a great charity and does so much good. Even better when the animal is a rescue animal too. It's a perfect win-win situation.
All the best

Thank you GMG or, I could say...GEE-GEE? That's short for horse in my land. Children call horses by that name. Yes, the mare was ill treated and I couldn't stand by and watch animal cruelty. Thanks so much for your comments. Avagoodweekend - short for have a good week end. Hee, Hee. Blessings, Kay.

Horses are smarter than people give them credit for. The have more sense than some folks. I love horses and there is no reason ever to beat or mistreat one.

G'day mate, Yep, she was very ill-treated. In the end she was fat and happy and when she could no longer carry adults, I gave her to a little crippled kid who absolutely adored her. Love, kay.
