It is easy to forget that no light emanates from the moon itself, so your poem offers us some science with the poetic delivery. I like "softens our nighttime". Your illustration choice and overall presentation are lovely.

Live and learn. I never knew moonbeams in reality, are sunbeams. (Everybody likes those romantic moonbeams, but now, do you, personally, actually see moonbeams in the sunshine?)
