Good Morning, Lisa!
Your well-crafted poem echoes the feelings that I also possess: I would love to "fly away" as well! We also enjoy the presence of ducks that live by our bay - East Grand Traverse Bay - just down from our home. Delightful to observe - and a wonderful diversion at this time...
Thank you for sharing!
Take Care!

We are in a lock down for 30 days, I have now survived the first 24 hours, now only 696 hours to go but if I sleep 7 hours a night then I will only have to be aware that I am in lock down for fewer hours. So sleeping would consider as my duck fly away time.

Yes, they have the freedom denied to us at the moment. I like the way the two are connected by the repetition of ducks in their first lines and the end rhyme in their last lines.

Be carful what you wish for. There are disadvantages, of being a duck, not the least of them being eating worms and insects.
I imagine that might make you reconsider, and leave well enough alone.

I might get made into an eider down also, with winter coming along here.

Why not just stay as sweet as you are?

Hahaha--- how obvious that you have never met me hahahaha.

Ha ha ha, indeed. I gave you the benefit of my having no doubt. As I saw no advantage in eider option, I let you virtue stand.

A beautiful picture with poignant words to accompany it, LisaMay. You did a great job with the syllable count per line. I don't see this as envy--more of a sadness on your part that you feeling the stress of the unknown with the virus. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe. Respectfully, Jan

Yes Lisa, these ducks have freedom when we do not and we have seen turtles on the beaches here because they have been deserted and they have had the confidence to explore. I enjoyed your words, love Dolly x

I love hearing that the turtles can explore their own beaches again. We humans are having to take a back seat for a while.
