This is a very clever and entertaining read that held our attention throughout. The picture accompanying this story is absolutely perfect and helps with the presentation. The story itself is very well written with no gramatical errors or typos. Have a wonderful day.

Oh my goodness! I was laughing at the possum antics in the beginning and I am so glad that you started and ended with the possum. The picture makes them look so cute! But they are a kind of rodent, aren't they? No wonder your father and your mother-in-law were not pleased.
Now you got me wondering about that mysterious scarlet wristband - wonder what that is going to lead to...

Thank you for the review and comments. I'm so glad you got a laugh. The red wrist band probably wouldn't be in the story except my daughter reminded me of it and she seemed to want it there. She liked it and wore it for years. I wish it did contribute to the story other than for her benefit.

Oh, I was reading more from a detective story and was thinking the owner of the wristband will show up later!

The only mystery is what ever happened to it. I only vaguely remember it.

Aw, Beth, this is a fun write and I can certainly understand your mirth. Your mother-in-law cannot have been happy. I can certainly understand that. I liked it. Ulla:)))

I love the story. I am wondering whatever happened to the possums. Did they ever find homes? I guess you could release them on the farm.
The next morning, I gave Carol a large woven wood purse with a latch at the top. (The following morning)

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you like my story. We eventually let them go. It wasn't one of my smartest ideas.

Beth,
I still think this is such a cool idea. I just might have to consider doing it some day myself. But, oh, there are some dark parts of our time together, too, that I don't know if I want to revisit. Yuck. (Mostly because of dealing with my mental illnesses - discovery and 'recovery'.)
Anyway, I found this continuation of the story to be as intriguing and interesting as the rest. *smile*
Notes:
1.) When we left her (place), we went to our place in the country and spent Saturday night.
2.) On the weekends, when we stayed in home in Metairie, we would attend church.
--> the 'in home' part reads awkwardly
Thanks so much!

Thank you for reading and for your comments. If you read the whole story, you'd know I revisited things in our lives that weren't that pleasant. I'm just remembering the bad as well as the good. No one has an ideal life. Thanks for noticing the errors I made.

My words as well. "Are you nuts?" The country would have been a great place for them to make their escape.
Good one Beth.
Another I can relate to.
Thanks for sharing.

What's wrong with you guys. Don't you like wild animals for pets? Just kidding. Neither my husband, nor my dad liked the idea of possums in the house or anywhere else. It wasn't a smart idea.
