I'm giving this a five, after having a debate with myself. At first, I felt there was way too much alliteration, and that it took away from the message itself. But after rereading it, I felt it was too well written to give it a four. I would love to see you do a longer version of this, and to not be too dependent on alliteration.

An appropriate poem to describe the night temptress, the succubus who offers lust, takes life and gives it back altered but eternal. I loved your use of the words lust, life-liquor, resurrection, within this haiku so much imagery unfolds. And the picture is awesome!

It's funny I re-read the poem 3 times to figure out if you were talking about vampires, when all I really had to do was look at the authors notes LOL I love the alliteration of each line!

This fits the 5-7-5 form well. I think on the first line I would put "lurk" after "lusty leeches" but the alliteration is interesting, and good luck in the contest.

I like this Gothic theme, for some reason it reminds me of the lyrics from Bj¶rk's song 'Pagan Poetry - "swirling black lilies, totally ripe." It also reminds me of the leeches in my grandparent's dam that I avoided as a child :p Kudos!
