This is a thought-provoking piece about soldiers who laid down their lives for others to live in peace. The fact that you wrote it from the perspective of a fallen hero makes it more poignant. That 'resolute' seems problematic how it appears. well done

Dare we call from beneath this cross of stone, always reminding you of the confusion from history, what lessons Congratulations on these lines give us a great reflection.
have you learned, will you repeat the past mistakes of your ancestors who walked this world before,
Can we rest from the toils of battle at peace with the understanding that history will show the distinguished who have fallen will live on in the hearts and actions of men who remember the injustice from their past, or will fall victim to events we ignored.
I like poems that make you think if we are on track and feeling you express the entire poem is admirable.
get my admiration from Mexico.

Found the message heartfelt.
I stumbled a bit over the form.
Seems like a hybrid ... not quite poetry, not quite prose.
Think I would smooth it out a bit and go in the direction of poetry.
Your message is getting a bit lost in the form.

I give this a five because of the content. I love the message and the words you use. A message from the grave. But I wish it would have been displayed better. Breaking up the lines some more would have helped the flow as I read. But all in all I liked this. Thank you for sharing.

Here we sleep in death, unbetrayed but honored in name , so for you of little faith and governing powers can keep that peace for which we few paid the ultimate price only a soldier can give,
very telling and well thought.. depth of meaning is impeccable and spot on... great job

At first I thought this was a piece of prose but then realized that it was a poem. The form confused me at first. My opinion is that it might read better if written in a free form format. But that's just an opinion. The writing itself was moving and well done.

A great and emotional essay on the soul of a soldier, and the look at how the errors of the past are constantly being revisited by the powers that be.
I thought it was well written, however, am confused as to it being described as a poem.
I understand free verse can be any style, and I assume that is what you have written this essay under.
Calling it a poem or anything else does not detract from your words, though. They are deep and profound.

My late father was a WWII vet and the years he spent on the front lines took such a toll on him, but the treatment he received when he got home was what caused him the most pain. Thank you for reminding me, liberty and justice is not free. So many have paid their lives for it through out history.

This brought tears to my eyes-- excellent work.
