I know you reviewed me and I really appreciate that given these concerns and disturbance you have from your dear husband. Your very clear text seems to emphasize the extent of your exhaustion, as though you just need to make it crystal clear amid the confusion that prevails during your day. I'm so sorry because this must be so wearying and sad for you as you see your husband change before your very eyes. These neurological conditions are very cruel and you should never feel the need to apologize but simply enjoy those moments of tranquility when you can, without concern for anything else. Take care, Mary. Debbie

This illness takes a very caring spouse who really Loves their partner. I'm Blessed to have my wife helping me with my handicapped body - missing left hand and left leg below my knee also my right hand finger tips and my wife is my caregiver. I read the part to her that speaks to not remembering things- I call it a derogatory term CRS can't remember """" As I'm forgetful due to 2 strokes affecting my memory. God Bless the Both of You and Praying for you to find Peace and a writing time for yourself. A Moving Story

This is so sad. Having just lived through caring for my Daddy with Alzheimer's I can identify. Your fear and despair come through clearly, and I was prompted to pick up my pen and write 'why I do not write more'. Thank you. kay

It is difficult being a care giver, especially when your mind wanders back to memories of how you loved one used to be. Your husband has a disability, but he is blessed that God gave him YOU. Remember the love you've shared and take care of yourself that you may continue to be a blessing.

WOW!! Thank you for sharing this with us. I know this has to be difficult. I can't even imagine. My prayers are with you and your husband. Please take care of yourself. You will be no good to him, if you don't.

Prayers sent. You can only do what you can do, under the circumstances, Hopefully, you will be able to take of yourself in addition to your husband. I an a nurse in an Alzheimer's unit and I can understand what your are going through and I am sure many others can as well.

I enjoyed your story very much and I wish you the very best with your condition. I totally understand you're not being able to review as much as you would like considering your problems. I just wish you the very best for a nice weekend and I do hope that you are feeling well.

I'm sorry to learn you are having to go through this. None of us know what challenges may face us and I sure it would cause anyone who had this condition as well as the loved ones who must deal with it to be exhausted and fearful of what might happen next. I'll keep both of you in my prayers.

I'm sorry for your situation, Mary. It must have been hard to write this and express your feelings.

I don't know if it will help you, but you're already enjoying the memories of the man he once was. Keep them close to your heart when things get bad. He's in there somewhere, and good souls never die.

Best, JohnC

Good morning, Mary,
You have done the FanStory readership a huge service by sharing with all of us the effects of Huntington's Disease on you and your husband. I have to admit that I am not very well-versed in the disease; I only know of the effects of dementia and Parkinson's disease as those were the two that took my mother's life.
Please continue to stay strong and positive.
I thank you for sharing...I am sending you all of my positivity and healing wishes for strength and caring.
