Dearest Joanne, I thank you so very much for the lovely review for my Trees poem. I was happy when Gypsy used this as a club event. It was fun going all the way back to third grade for the Trees poem. (Big Smile!) I appreciate all of your kind words and your very generous six stars. You are such a Sweetheart!!!. Thanks again, my very dear friend. (Hugs!)

I do remember the song about trees. Rather clever in its day. Poetry is the way we communicate, tell stories, and have a laugh, and in doing so, we are joined at the hip.
Some say they can't write anything. This was said to me by Sandra, now look at her; published author. Nothing is impossible with god. K xx

Hi Debi, this is a beautiful ode to yourself and all FS members. I like that you have been writing since you were a young girl. It's in your DNA.
Of special note:
I think that I shall never see
Another site like FanStory
(I agree, and it's the people that make it so great.)
I love the photo. Beautiful presentation. Your fonts match the colors of the tree--nice. A pleasure to read. This is a poem that made me smile and say, "ahh." Well done. Xo. M

Hey sis, you are so sweet and you of course are the first one I think of as I get kind of nostalgic as my two years of writing is just days away. Some of my fondest memories of this place are the ones with you. How many things did we write where we found so much in common back then?
Anyway, thanks so much for the kind words for this one and the six stars my lovely SOTU. I always appreciate you so very much!! Lotsa Love!! Debi

This is one of the best poems I have read. Like you I found a love for poetry in the third grade. I enjoy writing poems and I am glad that I found A place here on fanstory to read and write. Learning and making friends at the same time. God Bless Sandra

I know nothing about the rules and fine lines of poetry, but I do love the rhyme and beauty and the fact that it led you to write and to find friends of FS. Great!

Thank you for sharing this beautiful rhyming poem with us. I enjoyed reading. The rhymes at the ending of each line and the internal rhymes were very good.

This poem beautifully describes what motivated you as a child to put your thoughts on paper in rhyme. I especially enjoyed your reference to the poem "Trees."
I learned that song in elementary school, came home and sang it to my mother, and she rushed me over to visit my grandfather who was a minister. I sang it for him.
Your meter and rhythm in this poem is phenomenal, making it easy to read and relate to. You've done an exceptional job.

Oh Lorraine, I read your beautiful review and would you believe I never knew about the song. I went to an old country school and I suppose our teacher was suppose to teach us that but she never did. All I learned was the poem, so I went onto YouTube and found the Patty Page song of trees and added it to my poem. I hope you look and that it brings back a memory for you.
Thanks for letting me know about the song. All these years I wondered why they hadn't but I guess I never checked.
Also thanks for the most lovely of all reviews my sweet earth angel and wonderful friend. And for the honor of your six stars too. You are the best!!
Lotsa Love, Debi

I think that I shall never see, a poet who writes more creatively than the gal who is like a sister to me.
I think that I shall never see, a poem that spoke more personally to the spark that inspires me to be, less like others and more like she.
Write on my sister, write on!

I think I shall never see
A poet as well-versed as thee
And , were there such a poet
Believe me, I would know it!
-Thanks for a great take on Joyce Kilmer's poem. I'll never forget Alfalfa singing it as a song in the "Little Rascals" comedy.
