Well, I certainly need to go back and read some more chapters! This one caught my attention and my interest! I saw not problems in any grammatical sense, no typos, no where you left me hanging. I enjoyed the chapter. ann

Hi Ann, this is actually a book that Rhonda started called I survived. It is all true stories and as much as I could probably make a whole book of my own, I just joined this multi author book.
But I thank you so very much for the kindest and compassionate words for my story. I am hoping that something good has come from it, if maybe they stopped taking meds away from people without their knowledge. I appreciate your generous six stars and you so very much, my dear friend. Love, Debi

Oh wow, Debi, what an ordeal!!! I can't believe you were ignored like that!! That's terrible, but I do know it happens!! I was lucky with Wayne that he had the best care possible, but laziness occurs on all jobs. In healthcare, it can cost lives. In this cause, yours!
You story was very well written and engaging. You held me on the edge of my chair the entire time. I'm sure it was a good feeling having your son present and in the face of your next surgery team!! You go son!!
Much love,
Rhonda

Hey Sweetie, and would you believe this was not only the hospital that most trauma patients are taken to? It is called North Memorial Hospital and Trauma Center. go figure, huh?? When my daughter, Bridget was little she had a bike accident where she hit a rock and her head hit another one. Our local hospital couldn't handle her fractured skull so they flew her to North Memorial. I am not kidding!! LOL and that is why they wanted me to have my surgeries there

Oh my goodness Debi, this is a very scary story and you almost lost your life! How very tragic that the nurses did not take you seriously when you said something was wrong. When we go into hospital we are at the mercy of the doctors and nurses and we pray they know what they are doing.
Situations like the one you describe here make me very nervous about any operations. A well written tale Debi and thank you for sharing your experience with us, I am glad you are much better now after your surgeries, love Dolly x x x

Hi Dolly, they say it was a new nurse but she should have been trained because would you believe this is the hospital that most trauma patients are taken to? Fans story has been a wonderful connection with many people. "I hoped to write while in the hospital, so I brought one of my iPads. I joined FanStory in 2021 during COVID, which had removed all physical human contact except my husband. I was incredibly lonely for my family, especially my grandchildren. My immune system was very low, so we couldn't allow anyone in the house, even with a mask. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability. Sending you healing on all levels.

God was with you in the hospitals. Doctors and staff pay more attention to you when they see you have a support system of family looking over their shoulders to make sure everything that happens is in your best interest. You were fortunate you had your husband, Jason, and your daughters questioning hospital actions. Plus, you knew Jesus, and could call upon Him in your time of uncertainty.
This story had me in tears. I have never been diagnosed with Lupus, but share many symptoms with you, even though mine didn't start until 2012, except for shoulder surgery in 2006. I joined FanStory in 2020 because I have chronic anemia and had to stay in the house because of Covid. I even have bone on bone knees and shoulders.
Thank you for sharing this heart wrenching story of faith, love, and determination. May God continue to wrap you in His healing, protective arms.

Oh yes, sometimes the medical people need a stern talking to, your son is a good man. My daughter was carer for her father in law, and had many an argument, (reasonable of course) with doctors, I think she had more knowledge of her in-laws's condition than they did. I'm proud of her! I'm so sorry you've had these illnesses Debi, I'll pray, beautifully written, thanks for sharing, blessings Roy

Hi Roy, thanks for the comments about my son. We are so blessed too to have them live next door. My daughter good too, just like your daughter. They are good as we can't always speak for ourselves. Or when nobody will listen to us.

Debi,
Your prose shines as you recount this amazing chapter in your life. You've survived so much, and I, like you, believe God really had your back!
I know what the horrible leg thing is; I experienced it at separate times with two different psych meds: prolixin and haldol. The pain is indescribably
excruciating, I know!
I'm so glad you survived this ordeal. I hope your lupus is in remission and that you continue to grow as a write.
Exceptional story, Debi!
Blessings,
Cindy

Comment from Pam Lonsdale
It's taken me a year to wean myself from Advil, so I'm trying to imagine how you got yourself off of Oxy and Percocet after a 10-year addiction. I can't. I'll just say, "WOW!"
If lying back and taking some deep breaths and "relaxing" is all we need to fix our needs, then why do we need doctors and nurses. This just makes me angry to read!
The other thing that makes me angry is that everyone at that hospital seemed eager to pass the buck. I expect more from medical professionals, and haven't found this to be the case.
It's nice to have your kids come to bat for you, Debi. That is the one bright spot in this whole story.
Have you written about this before? I know I've read it, but maybe it was in a email you sent me?
Thanks for sharing, Deb. I'm hoping that others reading this will learn from it and understand that even the medical professionals can miss something or try to ignore it.
xoxo

Hi Pam, I thank you so very much. Your review truly meant a lot to me.
I really do try to learn from the negatives in life and make them into positives
(even tho this came closest to being my final negative) LOL
I had forgotten all about the poem I wrote you but I text you a link to it.
My life motto however, is to find a bright side. In this I think they took my advice about not cutting out someone's meds without talking to them first.
So, thank you again for your kind words and for the generous six stars.
Thanks again, Sis!
Love, Debi

I got your text, or email, this morning. I may have read it before, as I remembered the story. xoxo

Wow, you have been through more than one individual should ever have to. I am so thankful that Jesus came to be with you, and that he let you come back to your family. Any patient with any kind of difficulty MUST have a good advocate. I'm glad you had your son. I hope your eyes are doing better. Hugs!

Verna, I think you are so right about advocates. I am usually a better one for myself since I took it upon myself to get rid of 16 pills a day that the drs once had me on. I finally was getting more pills for what another pill was doing to me. After I decided to get rid of the narcotics I decided to take things in my own hands. When I got rid of the anti depressants and was forced to go off cold turkey because the druggist misunderstood me when I said I wanted to wean off them, he thought I did I was off them and he wiped it out of the system. We weren't able to fill them again and my dr was out of town. So I tried to go cold turkey. Would you believe for a week straight I had satan tie me up with barbwire fence and then turn it on and sat in my bed and mocked me while he shocked me. Night after night the same nightmare. It was the withdrawal. I still sleep with the light on since.
So, I thank you so very much. Your review truly meant a lot to me.

I am so sorry you had to endure this painful experience. I'm grateful that our lord and Savior saw you through the night and stayed with you when the hospital personnel let you down. You are definitely a survivor and we are all blessed because of that.
