My Susan is back again--and in rare form. This is an excellent piece that knocks mine out of the park. But I don't mind losing to you. Gruesome picture. Rich details. Good build up of suspense. Dynamite ending! Freaked me out!
Hugs,
Shari

Hi Margaret! I found that picture online of course and had to try to make a story for it. I have never seen anything so strange. Whoever photoshopped it was good! I guess it's a bit like the "Island Of Dr. Moreau"? With Bert Lancaster...it was so stupid tho. Like many horror movies. Lol! ") Thank you for reading this for me Margaret. I don't know how you do it. I can barely keep up anymore. Look for your magazines in the mail? Hope you will enjoy them! AND a hello to your family! Love, susan

Thank you so much, Susan. I'll look out for them. As for keeping up, I don't... I answer a few reviews at a time, inbetween clearing messages and reviewing those I follow... and writing. M xx

This is definately a horror story. I have a feeling Mr. Oppenheimer is finished with his creations. He should have stopped a while ago. Good luck with the contest.
Her husbands creations were nothing short of rodents. (husband's)

Hi Darla! Thank you! Isn't that pix odd? I have NEVER seen anything so weird. BUT fun to write a story with! ") Usually I write and look for illustrations, this time I tried the other way around. Thanks again! ") Susan

This is interesting, enhanced by the picture of my ex-wife. How on earth did you find it. The story had a scary ending, but there wasn't much build on the tension. Great writing, but not quite horrifying. Best, Dan :))

DAN! THIS is hilarious! The second review that has me rolling...It's too late to add tension, but I promise to remember your input for the next time. Thank you! Bless your heart if your ex was this awful...Oh, Lord. Thank you again! Susan

Well, Suse that certainly is a disturbing image, and your story does it justice. I'm amazed at how you can go from writing a hummingbird one day, to Haggarty the next. I like that you avoided so many of the cliches that run through most horror stories. Sheila J. Oppenheimer? Her husband's first name wouldn't be Alan, would it? Nice joke.
Peace, Lee

Never seen anything like your photo. looks a bit like a very weird monkey.
Just now her husband has found a buyer for Haggerty, he does not get chased off but eaten I gather.
And he is still hungry for more.
The open end leaves it up to your reader to think of more horror to come. This is a real horror story and held my attention all the way.
All the best for the contest Susan.

This is a horror story of a different kind. I liked your take on the scientific experiments and the horror they may cause. It was almost like the Frankeinsten story.
I wish you good luck in the contest.

Hi Ramarao! Thank you! I tried to be original...there was a movie called "The Island Of Dr. Moreau" that was along these lines. But I couldn't resist trying to come up with something to go with the picture I found. Susan

Susan,
you've written an entertaining story. The art work is ugly as hell. Your descriptive writing is very good in this. You do an excellent job with showing and not telling. I was thrilled as I read. You story is like those Alfred Hitchcock's presents, Night Gallery or Twilight Zone I used to watch late night with my dad as reruns on TV. Mrs.. I enjoyed this descriptive of the cold Shelia: "She was pouring another glass of wine, when her husband's screams ripped her world apart." Oppenheimber is about to become Haggerty's lunch. I wish you good luck in the contest. I'd recommend your story to other reviewers. I always love your short stories. Have a lovely day, my friend. Love ya...Melissa!

HI Melissa! I am ALWAYS just elated when you like my stuff. I used to watch Night Gallery all the time. Old Sammy Terry shows, all that. Halloween is fun, well, until people ruin it with mean stuff. Good to hear from you MissM! HUG! Susan
