This is a very well written piece. Very intelligent with excellent form and imagery. Your work always intrigues me. It's not my favorite subject, but that doesn't take away from the intensity of your work. Very much appreciated.

i can see there is a very strong structure within the poem, and I feel you have kept to it very well. Your imagery and word usage is powerful, as is the repetition of the phrase 'Babylon the whore' - which is an extremely powerful image for many nationalities and millions of people.

The important technical structure of this piece is the repetition and the use and development of it. It just happens to be about the Babylonian power called the whore...
...it was a little bit of an experiment...!

Beautiful poem. Reminds me of the poetry of some biblical verses...
"And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration." -- Revelation 17.6
Well done, my friend.

I think there would be quite a few places on the planet that could eclipse Babylon the whore and leave her in their wake, so are the sinful ways of modern man...She Has evolved has she not?

She has evolved but it is still the same old power of old thats exactly what I was trying to portray with the use of the repetition.

Sounds like pentametre is appropriate :) I appreciate this exercise in expression and 'development and progression of repitiion', though I didn't understand all of it. It was very visual, creating great imagery. Well done. Marcia

The essence is of the power of Babylon and the great claim that she makes over mankind. She progresses through the ages under a different name but is one and the same.

Your meter and rhyme are outstanding but your content is prophetic, powerful and overwhelming. I have researched, Bal, and the Ba al' very carefully for my novels. It is the content that carries weight with me. Well done

that was passionate and descriptive. words flowed for easy reading. The repetition does make a point. Scripture is a piece of work and ironically usually quite venomous.

From the old testament in the Bible we understand that one of the unholy places to be Babylon. If Babylon was the whore then, I would think that she may have evolved by now to another level. I'm not sure where this poem is headed other than just an admonishment of what has already been declared.

Babylon in this piece is a power not a place and therefore the reincarnation of her venom is asserted through the generations under a different guise...

Hey there Bicpen
I had to read this engaging poem several times to pull its full meaning out. The artwork is magnificent and the poem can strut its stuff all day. WTG
