This was a very interesting and well-written story about three terrible events you encountered. Most of us have never known a single person who was murdered, but you knew three! I enjoyed this story very much.

Wow, this is such a sad recollection. It really doesn't matter the relationship between the people and yourself. You knew them somehow. It's a shock to lose them. And to violence at that. This was skillfully written. Giving each victim their moment to be remembered. Great job. Gretchen

Thank you for not forgetting these victims. Even if so much time has passed, you honor them that you didn't forget and we can grieve their unjust deaths. It's shocking to hear about how Dean was killed. With today's mass shootings, we think it's only in our time but you point to another time with other motivations for killings. When will that stop? I hope that women like Cathy will get the help to leave their abusers! We have many more programs now to help and it's no longer something to hide.

Before, it is reporting with little emotion expressed.
With a long life and the lengthening shadows, it is a time for reflection. An obituary notice of a known acquaintance from a past time can invoke memories that lead to distant memories anew. One can only wonder sometimes. What happened to them?
