An interesting poem. This is certainly biting social criticism about gossip (and probably needs to be read on this site.) The poem flows well and the rhyme scheme works into the cadence. The multitude of characters serves to indicate how widespread gossip is. I do like the self-criticism at the end. A very good didactic poem.

This is really a great lesson, I love all the names you cam up with. Gossip sucks, and it can really hurt, but you have to consider the source, I guess. Very enjoyable read.

An interesting piece!
I liked the names best, I think. You've got a couple of smaller SPAG issues, but it's such a fun poem that I don't have the heat to ding you for them.

Hi There
This is a fun morality poem. Careless gossip... I liked how all the names of the characters were different words for that very thing - Clever!
Thanks for sharing

The lighthearted poem certainly turned into a butt-biter in the end, didn't it? This was well written and the rhymes were well done. The author notes were a bit long though. You are right though, gossip is a wounding issue in any environment.

'Good fences make good neighbors'. "Mending Wall," by Robert Frost. The neighbor's fence is under siege and is easily breached by a gossip.
How did the word ever get into the dictionary? One popular etymology connects the word "gossip" with "to sip": the tale tells how politicians would send assistants to bars to sit and listen to general public conversations. The assistants had instructions to sip a beer and listen to opinions; they responded to the command to "go sip", which allegedly turned into "gossip". A bit far-fetched I wonder?
But the real standard gossip can be found in the workplace right by the office water cooler: "Let's see. Who can we talk bad about today."
You have created the perfect gossip column with your colorful characters: from Ms.Tell-a-real-spin to Parrot Tattle and Bad-mouth Scandalmonger. The abab quatrains really sing a song about the foibles of the big mouths who love to slander anyone.
You remind us of that old Spanish Proverb: "Whoever gossips to you will gossip about you." So beware. You give us fair warning in a light-hearted, whimsical way.
Good work.
Gregory
