Very simple but poignant. Anyone who knows anything about the war will be able to infer all you did not say about her experiences. Though it seems a little unclear at the end. Did she pass away as the war ended?

If "Dear old Gram" is looking down from her cloud, she's so proud of you with this wonderful verse. So many tragedies of war and stories to tell ... well done.

I take it that Gram is an abbreviation of Grandma? it is a very heart warming tribute to her, also stating the life she had to endure owing to the occupation of Jersey during those war years. Also like the accompanying art work.

Wonderful letter and poem about your grandmother. I really enjoyed the flow, the subtle rhyme and the alliteration. Sue

Incredibly moving poem, Deepwater! You have such a rich heritage to draw from, seemingly unending! Your poem draws the reader in to your Gram's life and the picture is a perfect match to the poem.
Blessings,
Jane

Very sweet and nostalgic memory and tribute to your
dear precious Gram. A brave soul and silent warrior
of the good old fashined kind, and unsung here to
family and loved ones. Thanks for sharing.

This is a touching poem in tribute to your grandmother. It seems our elders had a strength beyond compare. I like the picture. Good flow, and meter, great sentiment. Leigh Ann

Lovely picture and poem as well, your grandma really had a very hard time, but despite her difficult life, in the end she was able to leave a legacy of wonderful grandchildren, as the one who wrote this beautiful tribute to her memory.
This is EXCELLENT!!
