Hi my friend hope you are well. Long day working in the rain I am a bit tired. I did want to say though found this excellent and very right on point. I suffer from depression so I've been there a few times:)All you said is so true I need to save this for a rainy day. More rainer than today:) Take care my friend and awesome job.....Mark

This is both a powerful and an inspirational work. .Depression must be a truly terrible thing, Who can know the true depth of it without having gone through it themselves..Your choice words bring clear images of some of the symptoms and then the inspirational side to this work is

I love the words believe, acheive, relieve. They are a force in the poem that points towards making a change. This is excellent poem about moving forward from depression, a devestating illness.

I love your sword, for depression I recommend vit. D. sunshine and lots of protein. I heard it on the grape vine.
good poem for awerness, sadly those who havn't experienced it

Believe Achieve Relieve
Depression, confession

And a good finish- so positive:
"With the life-line rope
The power of HOPE"

Your poem structure sold this piece and the theme was exploited with dignity. Your poem had an interesting twist in writing style and was compelling to read.

    Thank you Terry for your good review. Sometimes I adhere to poetry stereo types, at other times, I like to write like an artist paints - their own style from the heart. I have had some depression in my life so I understand it well enough. One has to make a concerted effort to 'chuck it.' If not, it will lead to a spiral of serious decline and one could lose friends and family. Living with the results of our past (ie: lack of education - not necessarily a child's fault) can be hard to deal with in a new country where one is an 'outcast' and unemployed. My husband was diagnosed at an early age with cancer... I have been down there. I know about depression. CG

I like it. You know I suffer from depression and writing is helping me so much. The poem is well written and flows nicely. I really like this. The encouragement is wonderful. Thank you for sharing

This is a wonderful poem with an excellent message of hope - the presentation is fabulous too, including the way you have the text leading down the page. My favorite part of this stellar poem is the last - "With the life-line rope The power of HOPE". Excellent!

Wow! Awesome! I liked the line 'mindless constipation.' Sigh. I know, that doesn't say much for my maturity level. I also loved that you turned it and reminded us to reach for higher things. That you remind me that I am stronger, that I am more than depression... Or the way I took it just more than I give myself credit for. Thank you! This was awesome!

What an excellent piece of writing. The words flow so smoothly. The message you convey is so powerful and uplifting. I love the "Remember who you are valued one" line. This was such a pleasure to read.
