This rondeau is quite uplifting and a perfect format for the message that it carries. This faith does keep balance in a world so tipped by the most unthinkable reality we live in today. Nice.

adewpearl--Your combination of allits (Ds; Ws; Ss) and firm
end rhymes let reader(s) know that despite any and all
bumps in the road or bruises to ego/body...you have an ace up your sleeve: "Faith;" the sustainer of man. teafor2

"At times when troubles last too long
and keep the cloak of darkness drawn,
when sorrow has me in its sights,
my faith restores".
That is my favorite part of your lovely lovely poem. This is such a beautiful and uplifting poem about faith and it was very touching to me. You did a great job as always. This is actually my first time reading a poem from you without a picture of Sawyer.
Great job

costellsgirl, thank you so much for your thoughtful comments and generous sixth star. You should look further back in my portfolio - I posted for three and a half years before Sawyer was ever born. LOL Brooke :-)

My faith returns when I read your words. They lift my spirit above my despair. You reminded me that God is there, with open arms, waiting to comfort me.

Brooke, what a lovely, upbeat poem of faith. I particularly love these lines: "and life, once huddled in the night, /
begins to stir with morning light / as if the day had never gone." And I always appreciate your clear description of the form you're using - an excellent teaching tool for the readers. Love, Jeanie

Eloquent and beautiful, Brooke, and I think the rondeau is a particularly effective choice for a faith poem, because its nature brings the lines above back home in the refrain, much like the faith holding things together. A marvelous entry, my friend :-).

No matter how long the night, another day beckons. That's what I thought about when I read your poem. We seem to see the world optimistically no matter what, you and me. I suffer, but I always think of what Scarlett O'Hara said...

This illustrates faith so very well. This is truly beautiful. It is more than well written. You have a command of the true forms that I wish I could match by 10%!
Fantastic. Thank you for the post.

Great picture of the morning sun shining through the trees, a perfect match for your rondeau. A nice life message to finish off with
just as sorrow seems to strong
my faith restores.
Good luck in the contest, Brooke.
