Well done! I loved the idea of the sunshine and lovely day, ending up with the moonshine, drinking it all in. Three lines and you have one the contest and all time best.

Thank you so much, Aussie, for taking time to read my poem. It's hard for even me to imagine how I started writing about the sun and the moon, and ended up on moonshine. It must be my one track mind. LOL! Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

Congratulations on the win!
Getting both sunshine and moonshine
into a short poem was a clever idea
and very well done
And the art work adds to the humor
Nicely done
Now a little moonshine to celebrate

There is a lot alluded to in this short poem. Sunshine does indeed light up our days but there are two kinds of moonshine that can light up both the days and nights.

North Carolina has some spectacular moonshine...LOL It is usually enjoyed around a campfire...not that I would know anything about that...just saying...LOL I enjoyed your 5-7-5 poem and the humor in it.

Thank you so much, Lisa Deverick, for taking time to read my poem. Yes, I've had a nip or two in those North Carolina hills, West Virginia, Kentucky and . . . well, I'm sure you get the message. It's hard for even me to imagine how I started writing about the sun and the moon, and ended up on moonshine. It must be my one track mind. LOL! Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciate. :-)

I shall give six stars, if you tell me what software you used....:
I do something similar, but I use a lot of different software.
Congratulations.

Thank you so much, Gianina, for taking time to read my poem. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-) As for my soft ware I have the Adobe complete package. However, I have used any of it on here. For this piece, all I used is the advanced setting when I posted. It's a little contrary sometimes, but you can do anything with it that you can do with Microsoft word. The only think I haven't been able to do is any shading or wrapping of anything. Give it a try. I appreciate you! :-)

The flow decreased at the end for me. However the imagery was strong. I can understand why this is an enjoyable writing.

This is only average to those who don't know what they are reading! I'm so glad those that make it first place in the contest didn't agree. Have a nice day.

Your 5-7-5 poem. "White Lightning," fits the constraints of this form of poetry in an excellent fashion. The humor involved and the picture are priceless.

This is so clever! I can see why it won, and congratulations on your win. Nice to have that shiny blue contest winner ribbon. Great play with sunshine and moonshine so that you met the contest requirements perfectly. Love the artwork, too. That guy must have been singing. "Little brown jug how I love thee." (One of my dad's favorite songs.) Great work! judi

That picture is of me, after a "Hard day's night." Hope the Beatles won't get mad. Thank you so much, Judi, for taking time to read my little, silly poem. I hate to use this word but OMG! This is fantastic and what a complement that picture is to your verse. Of course you won the contest because you spun a whole new picture to your title!

John Wilson, you have no idea how much this review means to me. Out of the three poems I've entered in contests this week, and I don't generally write poetry or enter contests, I have tried to tie the titles, poems, and pictures together to create some underlying significance. However, I am shocked to say that you are only the second person who has picked up on all the correlations. It's even hard for me to imagine how I started out writing about the sun and the moon, and ended up sidetracked on moonshine. LOL! And I don't drink any thing stronger than coffee or tea. Thank you so much for taking time to read my poem. Your kind words, comments, and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

It's the truth, in my opinion, fellow writer!

I like your opinion, and it must be smarter than mine. I never expected anyone to vote for this type of poem, much less it win the contest. I appreciate you, John! and hope to see a lot more of you! :-)
