I loved the twist at the end. The whole poem was humorous but the final punch line really took it home. I could just imagine the scene well. Great flow and rhyme scheme.

A winner all the way from the description to the delightful twist at the end. Every stanza cracked me up!!!
Maybe I should see if a chiropractor can resolve the sciatica that bothers me.. But first I'll have to check what's in my wallet.
You have a wonderful talent for humourous poetry, Paul..
Stay safe, untangled and blessed

Thanks, Julia. I highly recommend them. With my insurance, it is twenty dollars per visit.

That's reasonable! Thanks Paul

This isn't just a smile. It's laugh out loud funny. I've had many trips to the chiropractor, so I can relate. On my first trip, he told me to cross my arms in front of me like I'm hugging myself. He put his arms around me and gave me a hard snapping squeeze. Wow, it hurt, but the pain in my upper back was gone. Your chiropractor account, especially the last stanza is hilarious. Best wishes in the contest.

Thanks, LJ. I, too, have had many trips to the chiropractor. I have been so many times that we are on a first name basis.

Thanks, Jan. I visit my chiropractor once a month. He doesn't even give me a volume discount.

What a wonderfully whimsical poem. You should do well in the contest. By the way, you did make me smile. Which given the state of the world currently, is welcomed. Well done.

Thanks, KL. It is quite difficult to write humorous stuff with what is going on in the world today.

I love it Paul, thanks for making me smile. Your poem gives a very good description of the torture the chiropractor puts one through. And your last verse if a very appropriate ending.

I really hurt with that vivid description of your leg behind your ear. The sound effects of popping joints made me cringe. Clever use of enjambment between the second and third stanza. And then I screamed with laughter at the chiropracter's explanation of how he would help out. A doctor's bill would definitely lighten a wallet if loaded with cash.

Thanks, Spitfire. I even laughed, myself, as I was writing this.

This certainly made me smile, especially the paralysis. I actually thought it was going to go on from there and you were going to be tied up in binding knots forever. So a good surprise factor also came into play.

Thanks, Katherine. I go to my chiropractor once a month. I used to have back pain most of the time, but since I have been on this schedule (fifteen years), I have been fine.

Chiropracter worked well for me too. Kate xx
