I find that these non-fiction stories are always the saddest, and hardest, to write. The disease your husband is afflicted with is horrible and affects the whole family. You've described some changes you are all going through, and they are not going to get better. I wish you all well and hope you are still able to do the things you love.

Thank you for your review and kind words. Sorry it took so long to respond, I am having computer problems with the FS app.

I am so sorry. You and your husband are in my prayers -- may God comfort you in your difficulty.
Your story is flawlessly written and touched me deeply. I wish I had a six left of my allotment this week to rate it as it so richly deserves.

May I assume its your husband that is battling H.D.? You remain as sharp as a tack, just like me, save for my point, which has become blunted in recent years.
The Missus doesn't complain at all.

Thank you Tom, yes it is my husband who has Huntington. The one thing he has lost that I truly miss is his sharp wit and love for bad puns. So you know you are OK!
Thank you

My best thoughts to you and your b.f..
Comment from Brenda Strauser
This has to be hard living with someone who has this. My father had dementia and didn't even know us in the end. You did well explaining your situation. Nice job

Thank you Brenda, I appreciate you taking the time to review. I too had a grandmother who suffered from dementia. It tugs at the heart to see them fade from view.

That sounds very difficult. I'm sorry your husband has Huntington's. You summed up the experience so vividly in such a short story. I imagine it's hard to do a lot of things right now. This is a touching and heartbreaking story.

Thank you Bill. I appreciate your review and kindness. I wrote this when things bubbled up and I needed to "talk" it out.
Best wishes,

I am so sorry, Mary. I thought it was something of this nature or Alzheimer's. We took care of Jackson's mother for four years in our home until she passed away. It progressively became worse as the doctor said it would and she did many of the things you described here, especially the television blaring in the middle of the night. I hope you're getting some help. Thank you for sharing and no need to apologize.
Keep us posted.
