Debi, This is a very beautiful and well written poem about how you miss your mother this time of year and why. As I read your poem it brought back memories of my mom and family when she would take us trick or treating. All holidays are sad to me without my family that has passed on! love and blessings and a special hug for you!!!

Thank you for sharing this tribute to your mother with us. I can tell from the poem that she was a special person, probably angel, just like you. I'm sure that's who you inherited it from.

Oooh, thank you so much, Barb. That means a lot to me that you liked my mom's Halloween poem. She loved every holiday, but especially Christmas and Halloween next. Thank you for the big smile you gave me. Love, Debi

Awe. I love decorating for Halloween. I used to love scary stuff but now I love the fun and festive stuff. Your mom sounded like she was awesome. She put the joy of the season first. Not all moms are like that. Gretchen

Such a lovely tribute you have written for your mother. It's easy to see why you say, "I always think of you." My favorite line was, "And we would carve all weekend as we made sweet memories." What a great way to honor your mother. Thank you for mentioning Malachi. God has been good to us to give us this beautiful, sweet little boy, and for now--hopefully forever, to be rid of Leukemia. I will let you know if I'm ever in need of a poem for him.

Thanks so much, Vera. I appreciate your sweet comments about my mom's poem and for letting me know about Malachi. Yes, I am so happy for him. You are so blessed and they know so much more than they used to.
My sisters girl got leukemia at 4 and she got another kind of it too. They said that never happened in a child before to get two leukemias. Anyway they could never give her bone marrow because she was never in remission at the same time with both of them. So she died at 13.

I am so thankful that your sweet grandson is doing well and I will continue to pray that he does well and that I never have to do a poem for him.
But I am always here for you, my sweet sister. Love you, Debi

How lovely to remember your mom in this sweet way. It sounds like she was a lot of fun and worked hard to leave you and your siblings with wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing.

another great tribute poem in traditional verse. You make it seem so easy. I like tying it into Halloween and all that means particularly to children. BTW I am toying with a poetic rant about Halloween decorations going up in July! and Christmas as well. Just seems wrong to me.

I love your beautiful poem for your mother and the memories you have of all the wonderful things she did to help you celebrate Halloween and all the special days of the year. My mom was also very creative and artistic and made our house a home all year round, but especially at holidays with her special touches. I try to keep some of those alive, but she was the pro. It sounds like your mom was a special woman. Great job, Debi!

What a lovely tribute to your mom Debbi. I'm sure she would have loved it!
Your rhyme and meter ate spot on and the poem flows smoothly. She sounds like a very special lady.
Well done Debbi and I hope you're doing well.

My dear, this stands out for me as one of the finer poems you've written of late. The rhyming is there, the flow, and the heart. A poem about the seasons that comes across as the seasons of her love for her family. Just lovely.

She would be proud of you. So am I:-)

As you know well by now, as a writer and reader of mainly prose, I seldom to almost never give up one of our few sixes to poetry. But to me, although emotion has nothing to do with the writing of a poem or story such as plot, theme, or character, without either touching us with emotions, none of the technical tools would matter. Thanks for sharing.

Ric, I would like to keep this review out for when I read the new ones, then I could read this one again. However, you would never know then how much it meant to me. I do happen to know that you award a poem six stars very rarely. So, that is why this is such and honor to me. I thank you with all my heart, and I appreciate the kind words that came with it.

And since you and I have a special agreement regarding the Review Nominations, consider this an honorary virtual nomination from me.

Thanks again, my awesome friend for the great big smile you gave me too!!
That one is for real!! Love, Debi
