Well said Mr Verbal Economist. An apt description of this condition, and I like how you've picked a picture that shows the black and white side of the human face - an excellent parallel to draw for the human psyche when in the depths of bipolar. Well said my friend xooxoxo

An interesting picture to go with your words, like having two sides of someone which is very explanatory in your senryu. Well descriptive of manic depression as well.

I like the image! Nice and clear. Sometimes I am wired and sometimes mired. I am just an emotional girl. Life can be depressing of itself...just reflecting gas prices lol. And I got to learn a new form here too. Thank you Earthwriter.

how you grip a vast problem in few words in three lines.it seems you experienced very closly the depression, its effects and results.you locked very complictead condition in words.no doubt attitude is straightforword and truth in feelings.language is simple and easy to get it .you give the tongue for those who are depressed but can not say and point out.

Reminds me of a Star Trek episode I've never forgotten, where the aliens were half black and half white on different sides. They still suffered from extreme color prejudice. Good poem.

Dear Earthwriter, Darkness is manic depression. I should know, I suffered from BI-polar disorder and manic depression for 8 years and i would not wish it on my worst enemy. No prozac or kind words can get rid of it. Funnily enough the one food that elevates it is watermelon. I shit you not. I ate the stuff solidly for 2 years and cured myself. So if anyone asks whats the cure for depression tell them from me eat as much watermelon as they can because there's built in serotonin in watermelon that balances out the emotional yo-yo that depression brings on. Just spreading the good news. Keep up the good work.
