They are very nice lyrics, Roy. I just wish you'd done them in rhyme as nearly all hymns rhyme-I am sure you know how I feel about free and blank verse. I will never write in free or blank verse-it goes against my grain!! No offence to you, I just can't. Something Tony (tfawcus) told me, blank verse is always in iambic pentameter, so I think that yours would be classed as free verse. The message is a very spiritual one, we can only experience glory through him. Excellent rhyming and message. One thing, verse 2, Have you...........................ridden (rode is the simple past, ridden the past participle which goes with the auxiliary verb, have. Enjoyable read. Faye

It isn't a hymn, not in the classical sense, but most of my early songs didn't rhyme, and nor do the psalms, it's in the magnificence of the words, and the scanning of the melody that counts, some syllables are either lengthened or narrowed depending on the background rhythm, I was a songwriter long before I was a poet, though I think there's little difference a lot hymn writers weren't musicians anyway, I think that's why they rhymed! Excellent. A beautiful poem seeking the face of God in all the ways He appears to those who will seek and find Him. Some of these lines are so beautiful they bring tears to this reader's eyes
