My Vetty,
I loved this song - I'm saying it's definitely a Country-Western, of course, though others may disagree and hear their own tune that sounds completely (and wrongly) different. *smile*
It had the heart that all good songs need and also left just room for the hearer to insert their own experiences, too - to add to the drama. ('Cause what is life without drama, right?)
I also liked the way you swapped up each chorus to add more details. This as cool - but you should have saved it for a song contest. SIlly, Yvette.
Thanks!

It's rare to see lyrical poems on this site, but it's a beautifully composed song/poem with meaningful verses; hope it's not personal experience; thanks for the treat

Hello, Yvette,
I couldn't help but think about my ex when reading your poem. It's very well written and the presentation is beautiful. I hope this is fiction.

Well this is interesting. You usually don't write about depressing stuff. Guess it was just some flutter in your subconscious that had to come out. Keep writing and sharing your tunes.

Wow! A Broken Heart Won't Kill Ya! I love it all. I am not a singer but I tried it and you can be sure it works very well. I like the last chorus more than the first one because I feel there is something personal in its fading colours...background and in its superb last stanza.
Is that true, Yvette? Great Work! Blessings. Tony

Thanx so much for those beautiful stars, Tony -- songs are something I do rarely because they have to have a 'push' behind them... ;) :) Sorry I've been a bit AWOL lately - been packing up our house to get it ready to sell... but gonna spend some time here today! ;) Hope all's well in your corner of the universe - take care! ;) Yvette

I did love your song and how it could be turned into music, my dear songwriter! this could be another new job for you dear multifaceted friend.
are you really moving and leaving your house surrounded by mountains of which you spoke to me about long time ago? A lot of hard work to do now.Blessings. Tony

This is so well written. I hope someone grabs this as music lyrics; the lyrics are beyond words that I cannot express. To have a broken heart won't kill anybody but it sure makes life miserable. It's time to soon heal.

Fidelity versus perfidious is a struggle for the heart.
Something new just comes along and she sees it as better then she's got.
While you proceed on the road of faithfulness and stability she moves on to avoid tranquility.
Knowing won't kill you it will make you strong. When she sees your remake she will sing a different song.
When the hunter has a devoted one in the bag that is not enough, she seeks exotic prey.
She thinks you are in cold storage if her new attraction fades away, ready to heat you up we the new attraction runs away.
It won't kill you if look away and leave her wondering when she sees you drive away. She can't miss the fact that you are with two fine ladies that never fail to attract good men and bubbas too. There will be other diversions, things to do.
Someday she will realize she let the best one get away just for a one time jump in the hay. For Gomer has a roving eye and it never lands on fidelity.
Remember what the philosopher said: "Even if you crash and burn, you can become the Phoenix and regenerate into a new and better man."
Also, it is important to remember what the comedian Ron White said: "...if you have seen one women's tits.....you want to see them all."
Stay well.

A very well-written poem/song about broken hearts that do not kill but it can hurt more than anything else because no one can see the bleeding inside they cannot see the hurt.

I REALLY enjoyed reading your song!! I liked how it wasn't a poem, but it was a song instead. I don't think I've EVER read a song like that, 'till now!!
And the title was also very nice!!!!! :)
