Hello, this bounces along, doesn't it? Strong rhythm. I liked the story and it would be very nice for children to read, or have read to them, perhaps.

I notice this is for a competition, and you seem to meet the criteria very effectively.

Best of luck with this entry, cheers, Rebekah.

    Thanks, Rebekah.
Yes, contest done and dusted and this was a clear winner. You've got to hit the nail square on the head sometimes and the swashbuckling bear seemed to resonate with many readers.

Dear Kiwi,

So very well done, a magical touch. The love of Teddy makes for a great poem. The days fly by when you are having fun, joy to be a child out enjoying the sun.

Fantastic verse.

Warm regards,

Winslow

Of course this is a contest winner, Steve. You've captured all the innocence and industry of a little girl's day, playing hard with her teddy. Well done. :) Nancy

Hello:
Absolutely delightful poem.
Having a special teddy bear as a child was very special and had one for more than 30 years.
I love my litte Teddy Bear,
He's such a friendly fellow,
His fur, beautiful and soft,
Is neither brown or yellow.
The name Teddy Bears comes from former United States President Theodore Roosevelt, whose nickname was "Teddy". the name originated from a incident on a bear-hunting trip in Mississippi in november 1902.

Congratulation!

This is a lovely, jolly poem full of playfulness and whimsy. It has a great jaunty rhythm and is replete with play on words humour and perfect for adults and children. Lovely stuff! Well done - not as easy as it looks to create a poem like this and retain a certain quality! Hats off to you!

Thanks, Stuart - glad you enjoyed.
In fact, the poem was patched together very rapidly with the deadline looming - not the first time one of my pieces has done well under time pressure...

Five stars.
Nothing more wholesome, with great potential than for the mustard seed of companionship and fantasy to be mixed, while a child is in the protected world of make believe.

Conversing with a bear shows a level of commitment and care, for the essence of the day; is play.

Great poem for kids. OK for me too, I sometimes let my mind wander, hoping for answers and solitude.

The life of a teddy bear appeals to my taste...I am a child at heart.

This poem was fun to read. It flowed at an easy pace, with several adventure in the day and life of one that is loved by a child.

I am grateful to have found this one to read.
