Good luck in the contest Yvette. In so few words you described what so many actually search for, some even on a daily basis. I loved the artwork involved for it only enhanced your words. Well done and very much enjoyed.

Thank you so very much, Alie!! ;) :) Twenty words isn't much to work with, but I enjoy a challenge when it comes to numbers - lol! ;) :) Once a nerd, always a nerd, I suppose... thanx for the review and have a wonderful week of lovely October skies! ;) Yvette

A wonderful poem that reads very smoothly and was easy to understand. I actually thought it was very profound. The presentation is great. Have a wonderful afternoon. Shirley

This is really simple and yet, profound. Life is a continuum. And sometimes we search so hard for something without realizing - it was right in front of us the whole time. We eventually come full circle with our childhood dreams - by seeing them with older and wiser eyes.

I loved this Yvette, I particularly liked the last line, where distant childhood's rainbows hide. This made me think of how we hold onto our childhood memories as we grow older and how some of them grow fainter. An excellent piece. Good luck in the contest!

Forever is an eternity of waiting, it is always out of our reach, for we hide in our dreams, Yvette. :) I like your poem it is a good offering for the 20 Word Poem Contest. Yet, all in all, Yvette, you have never hidden in childhood's rainbows. Thank you for sharing.

Well, Ms Y,
I have read (and contemplated) your lovely poem several times, trying to figure out first, why search for the key to forever; but some one did, and found it unreachable. Does it mean that forever and ever place where wishes come true?
Your admiring friend,
Katharine

Shhhh.... if there's one thing I'll never do, my lady, is my own interpretation: I leave that to the reader! ;) :) Suffice to say, that twenty words isn't much to work with, but I enjoy a challenge when it comes to numbers, so I might have waxed a bit philosophical - lol! ;) :) Once a nerd, always a nerd, I suppose... thanx for the review and have a wonderful week of lovely October skies! ;) Yvette

so far we have had ONE cool day - yesterday - I went to supper at a friend's house and we actually had on sweaters!!!
But, today, back to humid, tepid non-Fall.
And you will never be a nerd.

Yvette,
This is such a beautifully written poem. As I think about it, it can have many shades of meaning: as hope springs eternal, the journey to happiness is just out of reach, yet we keep vying for it;
or childhood hopes are irretrievably lost.
An excellent work, Yvette.
I really liked it.
Good luck in the contest,
Cindy

Yvette,
That is just right. haha We have so many visions of what our lives will be like when we're young - great, glorious visions where we are the hero of every setting and event.
We age a bit and learn that sometimes, life in the present, right where we are, is pretty darn cool. *smile* I long for the beauty and wonder of the after-life, but I still long to see my grandbabies grow up. Sadly, I'm torn -- what does that say about my dedication... I'm troubled.
But your syllable count is just right and this is a very cool entry!
Thanks and good luck!

It's the desire to go beyond that keeps you headed in the right direction but the desire to watch those babies grow that keeps you grounded right where you need to be... NOT troubled at all, my lady!! ;) :) Just damn perfect, I would say!! ;) Thanx for the review on this shorty, friend - twenty words isn't much to work with, but I enjoy a challenge when it comes to numbers - lol! ;) :) Once a nerd, always a nerd, I suppose... thanx for the review and have a wonderful week of lovely October skies (and check your messages about Tuesday)! ;) Yvette

There's nothing wiser that a children's innocence, it's the power of sinlessness unto salvation. Innocence is the price of entry in to the kingdom, Faith is the key, but, Christ is the way. Well done Yvette, excellent post, good luck, blessings Roy
