This is well written. This poem serves as a combination of instruction and menu with a note of encouragement. This will draw the readers in if they are writers. We all become discouraged from time to time.

Thanks for a great poem full of advices! A writer giving tips to improve denotes a great person behind! Photographers say that a B&W picture points to address attention more to shapes than to colours. And that's the idea behind, I guess.
And, finally, something interesting about the artwork you added: if words are black and paper is white, then the book in the picture is in full colours!!

This is a simple poem and a true statement.
The artwork works well with the poem.
The 5-7-7 syllable count works.
But it is my understanding that Sedokas have two three line stanzas.
Please check.
