I like what I read and encourage you to keep on writing. I stopped when I lost my son and regret it. The hole never fills but the pain eases. After 16 years there are times when I still burst into tears for no apparent reason. I pray you will be able to deal with the loss and I am so sorry for your loss. You sound like a strong person and I will keep you in my prayers.

Thank you for your prayers. Yes, I'm told the pain never goes away but it does ease a bit. I'm sorry you're still grieving, too. Maybe we can comfort each other through PMs or email.

This is a very nice poem you have penned in a form I have never heard of before. You used very good descriptive words and very nice imagery from the picture you used. Thank you for sharing. Great to see you back for now. love and blessings, Teri

Hi Yvonne, I can't imagine your sorrow, but I fully understand and respect your expressed wishes in the prose portion of this post. Hugs to you.

So good to read another poem from you. And what a delightful verse it is. An Amanda's Pitch poem seems like something worth giving a try and anytime it's about birds you can count me in the cheering section.

I very much enjoyed the pure, simple pleasure enjoyed by these two birds.

Good read and always great to see you. :))

Gloria

Hello Yvonne, I am not familiar with this form and find it very interesting with alliterations in each line, the mandatory syllable count, and the set rhyming scheme. Very enjoyable. I will study it a little further and hope to write one as good as this one. :). Hugs, my friend.

Melissa

My sympathies for your loss. I lost a younger sister a few years ago, and I know how hard it is to get over such a loss. You never forget. I am glad to see you back on FanStory, and I think that's a good thing for you. Your poem is beautifully structured. It's easy to visualize the mockingbird's actions and how he wooed his mate. Lovely repeating line. judi

You did an excellent job with your challenge poem, Yvonne. Welcome back. Your prose introduction is straight from your heart. I agree with what you wrote 100%. Your poem is beautiful. The words flow smoothly with great rhymes, a great storyline, and super imagery. As I read it, I could see the birds doing everything you mentioned. The ending is so sweet. I love how you observed and shared what nature and God has provided for us to enjoy. Of course those tow mockingbirds were doing just what birds do. But for us to see them and you to so eloquently write it for those who weren't there, it was awesome. Thank you.
Respectfully, Jan
