I remember that presidential election, much different that the one coming up in a few weeks. I liked the simpler times. I wonder how many others are with me. I am glad you're writing this.

No doubt God did bless you. I had a little independent work for the Lord during that time in Arkansas. I also had a radio ministry as well. I love you story and look forward to reading about those days. You have a beautiful family.
Thanks for sharing.

Your life story is wonderful and should be in book form. I enjoy the ride with each posting!

At (one) point before he became so sick, he had helped Don and i (me) put together a kit for a metal detector which Don had wanted.

Walter Mendel (Mondale) was his vice president. Their term would start in January of 1977.

I go for the meat of the story. Typos are just that. Typos. I make plenty of them myself.

There were a lot of changes to contend with and seemingly no problems during the transitions. It speaks well of your family dynamic that things were rolling along nicely, so far. Those were strange political years. The changes over those last twenty years that you refer to, were gigantic but nothing like what has happened since.

Thank you again Raif, I'm sure my family isn't so different from most families. Change is something we all have to deal with. These days it is a whole new ball game. I've never known changes like the ones we're dealing with now. I'm glad I'm not still raising kids because I pity the mothers who are.

I'm so glad the children were able to adjust to the new school, their new sitter. The baby has a boyfriend, ah, she's growing up. I could relate to Connie freaking out, those darn things are scary. I had a fit when I snagged one on my line one time. My Uncle laughed so hard his sides hurt. I didn't think it was a bit funny. I hate to hear about all the trouble Joe is going through. Your story is well-written, very interesting. I look forward to reading more.

You have a great memory. I don't think I've ever eaten a crayfish. Don't think I'd want to. I enjoy the flashbacks but wonder if you could expand on them more. Here, for example, sounds like the setup for a funny story, maybe an entire chapter, but it is kinda glossed over. But this was very enjoyable and creative. Loved it.

Thank you so much for continuing to read my story. I appreciate your suggestions. This story started in the mid fifties, and I still don't know how far I'm going to take it. If I expand on the flashbacks, I'll probably put do them as a short stories rather than part of this long piece. I have expanded on some of them as short stories in my portfolio. But this is already too long for one book.
