This is wonderful. It reminds me of some of Dean Kuch's poems. The vampire really pours his heart out. He seems to put his love for this woman ahead of his need for blood. He gives her warning when the night comes, the vampires take over. People close their shutters and bolt their doors. But with this woman, he's ready to make her his living queen. (I'd be afraid he'd forget himself, though.) This is excellent, and the rhyme and flow are very graceful. Best of luck in the contest, and I see this making it into the winners circle. judi

Well, a pretty appropriate poem for Halloween! Your rhyme scheme made this one easy to read. Couldn't believe the fiend wasn't going to feed. So much for love!

I'm always a little apprehensive, when I see these titles. I've often wondered from where these hail, but wisdom tells me what lurks in men is not good, including me. But this is a notably different post, there's a yearning in the vampire to embrace goodness, which, I think dwells in most people, I think we're in awe of the potential violence that dwells in us, well done, imaginative post, blessings Roy

Dear Lancelot, While I don't believe in vampires, I am open to the possibility of higher beings, higher dimensions and higher consciousnesses. Your words inspired me to travel through them. Your capitalization of His light intrigued me and made me wonder.....Loved it

Happy Halloween to you too. Clearly written in a vampire's point of view alluring his victim to his alter. Charming how he used a mix of flattery and pity to get what he wants.
